It just hit me while looking at a screenshot I took of a 190, where it had ditched and the props had bent back: The 190 had wooden props!
Come to think of it, so did a lot of other planes!
So how about for wooden prop planes we just shatter the prop blades off instead of curling them back?
Just a thought.

I just did a quick test and the new 190 model has a wooden prop that breaks off on ground strike. Is your screen shot of the old 190 before it was redone? What other planes had wooden props? I always like to check the game for accuracy...

That's just wierd. Is that the Dora?

no its not the dora, its a 190A-8 i think. Dora had a longer nose. Nice skin tho, and maybe ill check all 190s. Maybe the A-5, D, or F have wooding props. Ill check it out.

The picture I have posted in this thread is from a Dora and it obviously has a wooden prop.

Just tested out all 190s.
190A-5 Metal
190A-8 Metal
190D Wooden
190F Metal
So only 1 190 has wood props and thats the Dora.

I think they started useing wood more, late in the war, due to limits on metal from allied bombing etc?

yea i think so to. Isnt 190D a late 44 or early 45 plane.

Lots of late As with metal props.
AFAIK some A-9s had wooden ones.
