This is the worst map AH has ever seen. Its horde or be horded. Masses of red and green which is never in the same sector at the same time. Its huge, the bases are spread too far out, and its boring. All I've seen from all sides is a horde. Hordes exist on all maps, but I've ever seen so much of it as I have seen on this map.
Want to help fix game play, HTC. Delete this map from existence.

Well, I was specifically speaking to his remark that it had been up for two weeks.. I wasn't commenting on the map.
I like large maps, but I agree this one is a little two big... Maybe someday when the servers are pushing 1000 people logged on at a time.. Then we could support something this big.

Size is just one factor in this maps ability to breed the worst of game play imaginable.
I am nearly certain that if this map were half the size it is now, it would be one hell of a good map. This isnt always true though. There are a few large maps that do not breed the hordish game play to the extent I see on Equinox. The bases are just too poorly placed, almost in a haphazard way, and also way too far apart. One here one there, just for the hell of it, one over there.
No disrespect intended to whoever made the map. Its a great looking map, but it just sucks for game play. Unless you like having 35+ wingmen attacking one con, or 35+ cons attacking you. Or 50+ red/or greens attacking a base. Then orbiting for 15 minutes with nothing to do but look at the other green planes fly around.

My biggest beef with this map is that it is completely Anti-GV... Hell, I don't even play GV very much.. But on this map its just outright impossible.
I think thats what sets other huge maps like Trinity apart... They actually support the whole game. On Trinity there are places where GV's can become imporatant (not talking about tank-town... I mean real choke points).
Actually I think all the canyon choke-points in Trinity are what make it such a great map... Only the most patient bomber pilots (like me..) are willing to go over some of those hills... Only the best tankers will survive in those tight quarters... The fighter play is solid and balanced (although carrier ops are under-represented).. Its really got something for everyone..

Just seems like 2 weeks or a month. The map sucks. The bases are too far apart and there's not enough CVs. I have more fun on a map like donut in one hour than I can on this map in 5 hours.

Phew - Man I haven't been able to drag myself in for a while, more due to work and girl friend etc, than lousy game play lol. Glad to hear I'm not missing any good maps. Sounds like I woulda just logged in and logged out anyway hahaha:rolleyes:

Please note: the following are criticisms, NOT insults directed at any member or HTC employee. Maps don't have feelings and can't feel insulted. Rule #4 doesn't apply here.
This map has more problems than just being rather large.
Several "bowl" airfields that are essentially unusable by bomber pilots.
Several 5-10K alt vehicle fields that are essentially unreachable from the gv spawns of other nearby fields, while their own gv spawns are quick downhill runs to town or field. Why have gv spawns to canyons below a vehicle field on a nearly unreachable plateau 5K higher?
The reverse is true in other spots. GV spawns that allow tanks to sit on a downslope and fire with impugnity into a vfield or airfield while gvs spawned at the field can't fire back because the enemy is above the max angle of the gun. The defending gvs are easily killed long before they can reach the upward slope and a chance at firing back.
Pointless and useless PT boat spawns that allow CV groups to sail right up to coastal fields with relative impugnity, while PTs for that same field have a single spawn an hour's drive away. CV's can get so close that the auto-ack of the CVs can shoot down planes taking off at the field. Along with this is the complete lack of shore batteries except at ports.
There is nothing equitable about Equinox. The SE country on this map starts with several more of the above-mentioned high-alt near-invincible vehicle fields, making defense much easier for them.
These are just a few of the many flaws I can think of at the moment. I'm sure others have other flaws they can name for this map. There is no fix for Equinox. I have heard of several players who have simply ceased playing while this map is in effect; due to it's many flaws. The map should either be completely redesigned or deleted altogether.
Many people busted their butts to get a reset the first time on this map last week after it was put in following the tour reset. We worked for a quick reset just to get a new map. No new map. Then came another reset. No new map. Then a third reset. No new map.
If we did something wrong to deserve this fatally flawed map, then please consider just spanking us. We volunteer RuAmL to be spanked. But, please, stop punishing us with this map. Whatever we did, we didn't mean to do it. We won't do it again.
Long post for my first. I'm sorry. I just really, really dislike this map. :)

I didn't want to post a complaint about the map, but maybe the gameplay has been so bad it has felt like 2 weeks.
I was actually... bored last night in AH, ended up playing Il2 instead with a good smattering of Call of Duty 2. That hasn't happened before, and kind of surprises me, more so after taking a week off the previous week.
