How does one man with a hunting rifle get the drop on eight other supposedly well armed and experienced hunters?
I just find it difficult to believe that eight to one odds can be anything but self-defense.

Because the 8 others were normal everyday people not ready to deal with a cold blooded psychopath.
-
I thought that there was only one gun in the group. Has the story changed?

How does 1 man get the drop on 8 others WITHOUT it being an ambush? To beat those kinds of odds you have to make the first move and attack as aggressively as possible. 1 vs 8 in self defense only works for Chuck Norris.

I'll be the first to admit I know very little about the story. I'd love some illumination on it. One gun among eight hunters?

From what I got out of the story (which was what, last year?) is that the man came up and fired at an unsuspecting hunter. Then the killer kept walking and shot at others in the group. You know how it ended.
I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I remember reading something to the effect of some of the hunters ran off and this guy hunted them down? But, don't quote me on that.

Wasnt he tresspassing on private land and one guy told him to leave and got shot at so he got his budies and the guy offed them all?
