Don't know what impact it has on the game, as Spitboy says:
"Note that this is not "official" as far as the game goes - securing your squad here will most likely have zero bearing on getting the name "in game." This is just an interim tool for the WWIIOL HQ site, to replace their previous static listing of squads. Eventually the real squad DB will be populated from the real player database."
