Guns shouldn't be banned, Abortion is wrong but should be legal, and it's possible that Bush is an idiot, but I kind of doubt it. I don't know SOB. I used to be a proponent of the judicious use of "Limey Bastards". Lately, I don't know if it carries the same weight it used to.

Dowding, is getting your gander up legal in GB?
I think it is legal in the state of Massachusetts in the US but it is a well known fact that those guys started with turkeys in the 1700s and the lower classes still do turkeys but the upper class switched to geese back in the late 60s.

I spent four years studying at Durham University - it is just outside Newcastle. That area of the country is nice and the people are alright too - unless you speak like a southerner and pretend to have some kind of class-based superiority over them. Then they get a little less hospitable.

But England was a great place. Very cold coming from New Orleans. "Heat" wave of 72 F had them jumpin into the North Sea (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
The barn fires on Guy Forkes (sp?) Day is something that still visits me in my dreams. Very neat experience for me a Yank. Loved the mince meat pies, fish and chips in newspapers and the wurly curly from the candy store. That was neat too, the fact that you had a shop for everything, ie meat store, candy store, produce, real pharmacy. Very pleasurable experience..

Remember the cliffs too, at the edge of town. Very cool playing "Japs and Commandos" with the local kids. Egg collecting was big too. And there was a small movie house where every weekend we would watch cartoons (American of course (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) Hobby store was in Whitley Bay, had to catch a double decker bus to get there. Money was funny looking, you guys had just switched over to the new currency but the arcade still took the old big coins. The locals like us too, we were the only Americans around. All but one local, a butt head who would follow me and my little brother around yelling "Yankee go home". Took that for about 24 hrs and then fed him a Yankee knuckle sandwich. He didn't bother us anymore (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
New Orleans is a great party town. Bourbon street has to be experienced to be believed. Some things are enjoyed more as an adult (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Whitley bay is a big stag night place. Went there a couple of years ago. More recently, a load of us hired a coach and we all went there for the day. It was the last weekend of uni. ever, and I don't think I'll ever forget it. Red hot weather (except the sea was a bit cold).
Yeah Whitley Bay, is ok in summer. But in winter it gets a little bit crap. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
So how old were you when you were there?
BTW, New Orleans will be visited eventually.
