Not a song from a WWII film but an actual song from the era featured in the nuke sequence of "Doctor strangelove" by Vera Lynn entitled "We'll Meet Again". The song was also mentioned on Pink Floyd's album "The Wall" in a song called "Vera".
Does anybody here remember Vera Lynn?
Remember how she said that we would meet again
Some sunny day

"Moonlight Serenade" or "Stompin on the Savoy" both used in several movies... reminds me of the B-17 missions lifting out across the channel...
or the warm evenings in Honolulu when the Duke gets a drink splashed on him

Don't be a nimrod. Patton upstages Montgomery and his marching bagpipers in Messina. It might not be on your precious soundtrack, but it's part of the film I enjoy that happens to be a musical moment.
You ever see the movie? You should check it out sometime, it's pretty good.

Burning Bridges was good....

Danny Boy - Memphis Belle.
When it breaks out into swing music for the balloon drop, that's awesome. Next to impossible to find a girl that knows how to dance to it though.

One of my favorite parts also.

Although the exchange of "Dont shirk Patton I shat kisss you"
"Tis a pity because I shaved especially close this morning in preparation of being smacked by you"

No worries.
And I believe it was 'shant'. The other spelling changes the meaning slightly to something a bit sinister...
-
Hmm Favorite song. Haveta be a few as I cant name just one.
Danny boy from MB was good as was the one from Battle of the bulge.
As well as "The Ballad of the Green Baret"
I guess while not Technically a song I would haveto include the cadence march from "Battle Ground"
Musically. Anything from the "Patton" Soundtrack and "German advance" in particular..
Also the music from "the Blue Max"
and The Great Escape

As a kid, I must have listened to an LP with the music from 633 Squadron roughly one million times. Still one of my all time favorites...
