Title: Computer Problem, Question
Post by: TalonX on November 12, 2005, 09:10:30 AM
I shut down my computer last night after playing AH.   Nothing unusual.

Today, when I fired it up, it sounded like the fan when to hyperdrive....very loud, lots of air moving.

I rebooted several times, with the same issue.

I opened it up, wiggled a few things (not computer savvy) and rebooted.  It is fine now.

Any ideas what happened or what might be my problem (besides being non - computer savvy) ?

Thanks.

You did exactly what any computer savvy person would have done.

Why was the fan in hyper drive? Who knows. For some reason your machine thought it was hot.

We are the pioneers. Computers are still in their infancy. Many strange things happen that are unexplainable. Our grandchildren will wonder how we ever lived with the crude things.

You probably jiggled the temp sensor under the CPU back into place. :D
