I think that you really ought to get this book..
"Boston's Gun Bible" by Boston T. Party
Thousands of pages of what I think you will find interesing and informative reading.. It is a work on every facet of the rifle and pistol for defense and battle.. It touches on every aspect of politics that you would ask about and has history and case studies and law and politics galore... just about this guys entire thinking process on guns and politics.. plus... rating systems for all major battle rifles....
Minces no words. Good data.. I will forgive him his infatuation with the glock tho cause in fairness... it is a good pistol.
I doubt that you have ever read anything like this book and am sure that you will really enjoy it.. it is expensive and not many used copies around..
make sure you get the revised addition for 2002 (it has 200 extra pages and he changes his mind in it about the best battle rifle)
difficult book to explain but it is like reading the more libertarian gun guys on this board.

Ah! Looks great, just ordered it off Amazon, current edition. Also ordered with it 'Moulon Labe.. Come and Take Them!'.. same author. Combo deal, 35 bucks; shipped. ;)
Thanks, Teacher!
