Title: Differences in Ch Joysticks?
Post by: SKJohn on November 13, 2005, 01:37:17 PM
Whats the diference between the Combat Stick and the Fighter Stick?  Looking at the pictures, they look pretty much the same to me.  Which one is better for Aces High?
Are te locations of the hat switches and button roughly the same as the X45?  Would it take long to get used to it?
Have been  using the Saitek X45 for a couple years and really liked it, but am now getting some kind of wierd key press problem - thinking about "moving up".
Already have the Pro-Pedals USB, and IIRC, I can use the Saitek throttle with teh CH set-up, so I'd probably juyst need a new joystick.
Anyway, idea and opinions welcome!:)

I think the difference between those sticks is the Fighterstick has a couple extra hats where the Combatstick has single buttons.  I switched from an x45 to a Fighterstick a year or so ago and it takes a bit of getting used to.  There's not nearly so much resistance when you move, and it's quite a stretch to reach the POV hat.

I do not think you will be able to use the saitek throttle with ch stick as you will need the x45 jstick plugged in as well for the throttle to be seen and that will give you the same issue you have now

Oops - forgot about that, the throttle does plug into the joystick.   I guess I'd have to get the Throttle and joystick if I wa gonna switch.  Oh well, back to the drawing board....
