Title: Anyone played an Xbox360 demo unit yet?
Post by: Reschke on November 15, 2005, 09:50:55 AM
While my wife was across the hall in the mall doing some shopping. I was the only guy in the EB Games and I had 30 minutes of uniterrupted game play. They have this thing hooked up to one of the new Samsung LN-R237W HDTV's. Talk about a kick prettythang picture in the game. I must say that COD2 for the Xbox360 simply is gorgeous. Its not a kid friendly game at all but other than that I know what is going on my post christmas console buying and game list along with Madden06 for the Xbox360.

That was the fastest 30 minutes I have ever had on a console gaming system.

The one game I wanted on lauch was Elders Scroll IV. Now that's it's been pushed back I will wait on getting an XBox 360. There are just no launch title that's interest me. I am really looking forward to a game console that can take advantage of my HD TV.

I believe this one will answer alot of HDTV wishes. I am holding off on buying a new TV for just this reason as well. Unless someone gives me a huge break on a good HDTV then it will be bought all at the same time after christmas.

Since I'm on vacation all week I've dropped by 3 game stores. All had CoD2 on demo :( I was hoping to find Project Gotham 3 but I geuss it's not to be. That's gonna be the game worth getting.

I really wasn't impressed with the CoD2 demo on the 360.  It looks and plays better on my pc.  I did crack up when the 360 fell flat on its face after throwing a smoke grenade though.

Yeah, I'm going to go broke this year..

I want the Samsung 42" HDTV, and a X-Box 360...but first I have to get my track car fixed.. I need a full rebuild on the motor and new set of tires..:cry

You don't need to spend a fortune, I bought a $2,000 52" HDTV Mitsubishi projection TV at FRY's. It's not a plasma skiny tv, but it's not the old "soda dispenser machine" either.

Xbox, PC games ... looks killers :D

I head from my friend at BestBuy that the difference in the $300 and $400 XboX360 is more memory. He said most games will need that extra graphic push.... i havent looked into this yet but i plan on getting the xbox360, i just might have to wait 6 months.

The difference in price comes from the fact that the basic 360 does not have a hard drive while the more expensive one does. They both have the same machine specs regardless of what you buy.

And unless you own the more expensive one, you won't be able to play Xbox games on it. The base system is not backwards compatible.

It's also worth noting that buying the cheaper version doesn't save you any money.  You'll still need a memory card and you'll definately want another controller.  Those 2 items almost make up the price difference without even mentioning the harddrive.

My friend said they sucked dank, but i'm not much of a console gamer so i haven't tried one.  It's all the same to me, quite frankly.

Here's a small preview of how Xbox 360 graphics look like without buying a High Def TV to see one!:D

With the exception of the DOA screenshot (above) most of the launch titles on a bad day, look like a good Xbox 1 game. The Xbox games now that support 480p don't look too terribly bad to me.  I play them on a 42' Hitachi.

Hopefully, when the 360 comes out they will look completely better at 720p.

Did you go through the "Program Requirments" link down at the lower section of the page...There is no such thing as a free deal on anything like this now. I bet it would cost you somewhere around $400 just to complete all those offers and then you still may miss something in the fine print that will exclude you from the "free Xbox360".
