Guys....HORRIBLE NEWS...1:56PM Eastern the skuzzmister himself said over 200 in the MA in responce to my request for donut that "donut" may never find its way back into the MA because of 2 many complaints on the BB....WTF! This is the only map thats half way decent in AH....So now we r getting reset to SFMA...The same damn stale mate of a map we had all last week!
Lets show HTC how much we want donut with positive responces on this thread! PLEASE BRING BACK DONUT.....
PS-I wish we had more map makers....I understand how hard it is...I tried making one myself yesterday and realized it is ridicously difficult and gave up...But it sure would be nice 2 see a change of maps.......

They need to stop paying attention to the BBS and pay attention to what the people in the arena want. Otherwise we need to get more people on here. For Donut not to come back into rotation is extremely stoopid! :) Kinda funny the "toolshedders" can always have their fun, but when the "furballers" want theirs, we can't have it. BS! BluKitty said it best the night Bish took over FT on Donut, and Knits and Rooks had a truce to get their perspective fields back... "The community just proved they want a FT". If they don't want to give us Donut back fine, then make an FT arena.

But they keep the motherk(*&#*@!^!^%#&*&@^&3 Frac map. The worst map that aces high has ever seen next to that peice of crap equinox. BOTH of which have had more complaints about on this BB than Donut.

I agree this sucks, but if we all go crazy about it and bring up the lame crap that happened and another firestorm starts, Skuzzy said we'll never see Donut again. Just show your support for the best map we have and keep it clean so we can hopefully see it again.

Doesn't matter if we keep it clean, or kiss HTC's 6, we still won't see the map. And honestly, it's getting old.

Nothing matters, the game is going to keep on going down the path its been on. Which is anything but a focus on fighter combat.
Please for the love of God, finish this thing you call ToD and bring the MA back. What we have now is Air Quake for bombers.

thats unfortunate. 3 fields out of many, a small corner out of the war's way.
I dont think it shifted the focus of gameplay off the chess piece war at all. it merely offered a choice for the players to spend their time. Some chose to enjoy these three fields, some chose to continue the war at other fields. If it detracted from one style of play over the other, well, actions spoke louder than words.

I like donut...especially with coffee. Hadnt been on much the last 2 months, so I missed the contriversy, but I had no complaints about the map.

The complaints were coming from the "war seekers" crying about all the attention FT was getting instead of focusing on "winning".
One more thing... instead of saying "The war has been won" when a reset is achieved, why don't you say "The battle has been won" at least that seems more appropriate.

Everyone should stop referring to this as a debate between two sides. Just turns discussions into flames and makes most arguments lose credibility... We're all part of the same community, we all play the same game, and Donut offered plenty of choices for all aspects of gameplay. The war didnt disappear, furballs ensued, strat trains ran on time, life was good. Donut makes me hungry and I want more.
can we get some official word if it's dead or not?

Please bring back the donut. I am not a furballer, I'm not a buffmeister, I'm not a GV'er. I have no partisan agenda. I just want to play the game and have fun.
There are some strong reasons to include this map in the rotation.
Point 1 It was, from what I understand, the product of a group that put a great deal of work into its development. Map design has of necessity been a lower priority for HTC, and with the move to AH2 the community lost several incmpatible maps. A stale rotation detracts from gameplay and adds boredom -- which would affect HTC's longest standing (and thus most profitable) customers disproportionately. So:
it seems to be strongly in HTC's interest to encourage community developed content whenever possible.
Dumping this map after all the work those guys did would not only be a slap in the face, but it would give them AND EVERYONE ELSE CONSIDERING THE NECESSARILY ENORMOUS INVESTMENT a powerful disincentive to do our community a similar service again. Unless there are insurmountable probelms with a map (or skin, or add-on sound), it is very much to HTC's best interest to work with the volunteer product.
Point 2 No map will be well received by everyone. Despite the jawing, people deal with those reactions in sometimes positive ways. For example, it seems to me that Frac has generated more negative reactions than any other map; but the effect has not been all bad. At last rotation, when frac came up there was a conerted effort by all -- including guys who rarely care about capture -- to get a reset as fast as possible.
If the anti- Donut people feel that strongly, they can organize a similar effort. If they cant get enough together to reset, then there arent enough of them to reasonably expect the map to be withdrawn.
Point 3[/U] Although some may consider it a partisan argument, it seems to me quite reasonable for the furballers to have a map tha coddles their favorite activity. There are maps that make high alt buffing easier (like festerMA's single, centralized 10k base); there are island maps with few shore batteries that favor CV actions; there are maps with GV sub-arenas (including one with deliberately high mountain walls for anti-air protection). Regardless of how the rest of the community whines, doesnt it just seem right that there be at least one map that makes furballs easier??
Point 4 As in disciplining children, it is wise to remember that actions have consequences. If a vocal but noisy minority can destroy what they personally dislike, it would reinforce their dysfunctional behavior -- making it recur and spread to others. Is it better for HTC and the community to reward rational discussions (like this), or to reward the rampantly negative players who trash whatever they disagree with?
IN summary, I strongly favor Donut's being retained as ONE element of AH's rotation system. Removing the mao would be unfair to those volunteers that designed it; it would discourage important future community contributions; and it would be a disservice to the subset of players that like furballs.
Please return the Donut

Maybe Skuzzy was joking or cav58d's trolling, because Donut map is up in main backup arena as of now.
But if there's any truth in that claim, I'll find something else to waste my time on...

I do have to say that the BBS and the MA have not much in common. YUes there are arguements and suggestions and stuff that affect it from time to time but i think they aren't dependant on each other. Some things in the MA happen quite differently than percieved on the BB. In my opinion, dumping an map over what is said on the bulletin board and not going and seeing how it is in the MA is NOT grounds for killing it. What is said here and what happens in the MA with DONUT are complete opposites. Maybe HTC should come in more often and mix it up with us? See how it is in MA for a while.

How about put online small Donut arena(only 3 fields around lake) and name it donut/doom arena???

Like Morph said, how can you keep Frac and get rid of Donut? This isn't about "dividing the community" or starting flames. Bottom line is once again the "war seekers" are ruining the fun. Period.

This isnt a troll or any BS like that...Skuzzy said over channel 200 Donut MAY never return to the MA because of the BB....Please dont flame this thread...I started this for the people who support donut and would like it back in the MA.....This is strictly for HTC to see how the community feels about Donut...Skuzzy said donut may not come back because of the BB....Lets show him he has 2 make it come back because of the BB
