Ok...
did spit 1 changed or bf-109E got more manuverable? Sure spit 1 got more power but 109E seems to have better roll and instantaneus turn than spit 1!
-
To my knowledge 109s have always had better roll and instant turn then spits. Spits are known for good sustained turn not instant and need clipped wings to be able to roll... ;)
-
Roll was certainly a lot better on the Emil at low-medium speeds than the Spit I or any version (clips excluded), and it was rather similiar at high speeds like 400mph - both planes were a sucker in this regard until later models, and even not very impressive after those later models at high speeds.
-
Took it up, I honestly dont see any big change from previous versions, other than it goes its proper speed now at low lvl.
109E rolls slightly faster but is not as good in the turn.
You sure you aren't too used to Spit XVIs and 109Gs before you jump back 4 years for the tests IK3? They are 1940 a/c remember.
Lots of folks say bad things about them because they dont fly like LA-7s and P-51s.

Spit 1 was actually nerfed, on purpose or by accident between 2.06 and 2.061.

Well, I never thought the Spit IA with fabric ailerons was supposed to out roll a 109E anyways, so if thats the "nerfing", than im ok with that. It seems to me to be as comparable to a 109E as it should be.
I rolled them both @ 220-240 TAS at sea level, Spit IA rolls 360 in @ 6-7 seconds, a 109E does it in maybe 5 seconds. Seems to be close to what the data indicates they should do.
Maybe somebody can do some more in depth tests.

That should be pretty correct numbers. The roll rates will draw nearer to each other as speed increases.
