What firearms do you own? Here's a list of mine:
Remington model 700 Sendero SF (7mm STW)
Savage Model 110 30-06 rifle
Winchester Model 94 30-30 (can't believe I forgot this one)
Remington model 597 .22 calibre semi-auto
Marlin 25N .22 calibre bolt action
Mossberg shotgun (18 1/2 inch barrel)
Barretta .40s&w model 94 contender
FB Radom 9mm (browning knock off from poland)
All are kept in my gun safe. I used to keep the shotgun by the bed (wife's side) because I worked nights.. but found the dogs to be more than effective.
Some history on a couple of guns:
The 9mm was taken off of a German officer by my grandfather in WW2. It has Nazi prof marking on the side. It is a fascinating peice. It also has a clear handle with pictures in it. They seem to be of a German man and his wife.
The .40 is an excellent gun with more firepower than the 9mm and more control than the .45. I've fired about 10,000 rounds of .45 and 9mm from my Air Force days and fell in love with the .40 the first time I tried it.
The Savage 110 30-06 is about the best bang for the buck 30-06 on the market. you can usually get an excellent price on a package deal with a scope. There isn't any game in North America that you cannot hunt with this (well... maybe the Grizzly or Kodiak might argue this point). Its not the best out there... but its definately worth the price.

I have....several. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Like a bag of golf clubs, there is the right tool for each job.
My tastes run mostly to shotguns, usually 12 gauge, O/U preferred.
However, I do a lot of recreational shooting and some hunting <not as much as I used to>.
So, I do have a variety.
Yes, they are in a heavy, excellent safe.
We've got 3 Labradors as well...BIG Labradors. Not that they're needed as guard dogs; this place is very peaceful.
-
None.
In fact I can tell you that I dont know personally a single guy that owns more than one firearm, and that only and exclusively for hunting.
-
Reduced my gun collection from 15 weapons down to 3 after having kids.
Glock .40
Remington 700 model ought-6
Remington 1100 model 12 guage
My father has about 20 weapons that will be mine someday (so he says)
One is an old one, forgive me if I have the numbers backwards, or wrong. I'm a sports hunter so I don't know too much about fire-arms (other than safe handling)
1875 (19th century) .40/75 black powder cartridge rifle. In 1978, the value of this gun was $4000. Of course, money means nothing since its 'in the family' for good, Great grandpa had it, Grandpa, Dad, then me, then my son, etc. etc.

I'm kinda a gun collector...
7mm Rem. Mag
270 Ruger M77
270 Rem
M1 Carbine
7.7 Jap
.303 Enfield
Marlin 30-30
Marlin Goose gun (the master of all 12 gauges (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/tongue.gif))
Rem 870 20 gauge pump
Kit .50 BP
Kit 12 gauge double, BP
Marlin .22 Mag
Legacy .22
Ruger .22 single-action revolver (only pistol I own)
I do alot of hunting (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
The 7.7 Jap is a 1939 version, used in the Korean war (with the AA sites still on it). My Great Uncle picked it up before he came back from the war.
M1 was one of 15 or so one of my uncles picked up in the 50's when they were under 20 bucks.
The .303 is one that had the stock chopped to give it a sporting rifle apperance, it's not much good for anything other then that anyway, the barrel was grinded and blued, so I'm not sure what model it is.

Gunz? LOL
Well I have:
Rugger M77 300 Win Mag, I have two hand loads, one for Deer sized amimals 150SPBT at 3050 fps 1 1/4" groups (more than adequate accuracy for a deer. One for Moose 200 Nosler Partion 2850 fps 1 1/2" groups.
Remington 12 Ga Model 870.
My mothers single shot .410 ga.
My dads Remington 31L 12 ga.
My grandfathers single shot FN .22.
A 45/70 Trap door Sringfield Officers model.
A burglar can get to my guns before I can, but he will have to search for the ammo.
My guns are for hunting, and family heirlooms. If the Government makes me register them, I will. After they register them, they will of course come and take them away (the only purpose of registration is that it is a neccessary a prelude to confiscation). Then I will have no guns, America will be no safer, and my life will go on. Then I will take up fishing, until they outlaw that.
You have to understand the progression. First they will register guns, then they will take them away, then they will outlaw hunting, then they will outlaw fishing. Probably take another 100 years.

No guns.
One Broadsword with a 32" blade.
One cheap Katana with a 27" blade.
One Tanto with a 6" blade.

Bingo, that's why I'm a Pro-gun supporter, it you stick your finger in the dike and call for help, no flood will occur, in theory. Look at England for examples. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

LOL you guys!
Ya can't just speculate about a possible future and claim it to be the truth without offering supportive evidence. It's sort of a variant of the logical fallacy of a slippery slope argument - if A happens, it will have consequence B, and then follows C, D, E and F.
If, in the future, a hovercraft is introduced, and I am forced to register my mach 3 27000 hp monster, the government will fall, the rupture begin and the world will be surprised as all Christians suddenly disappear. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
Ok, a bit out there, but you get my point (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif). I do not present any evidence that B, C, or D will happen, should A happen.
Hell, my father has more guns than some of you guys. My two brothers too. All registered. Now, we've had that law for, oh, dunno, pretty much since firearms were around?
And people still have lots of guns, hunting is more popular than ever, the government hasn't invaded my home and taken my stuff. No Orwellian scenario. On Greenland, which is part of Denmark but has its own govermnment, shotguns do not even have to be registered IIRC.
I mean, I know you yanks are fiercely independent and freedom loving. But, and you must admit this at least to some degree, you're also a bit paranoid (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif).
"The price of freedom is eternal vigilance" will be your response, I know this (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif). The question is; when is vigilance paranoia?
(the only purpose of registration is that it is a neccessary a prelude to confiscation)
*sniff* *sniff*
Bait? Think I want to stay in the pond for a while.
The downside of registration is that in case there's an invasion, once Denmark has been overrun (and it will, it's a small country with very few natural things like rivers or forests who can halt enemy armor), the enemy will go down to local police stations, find out who have guns and confiscate the guns. And maybe do more stuff.
But the resistance movement in WWII had no trouble at all getting hold of weapons and explosives.
Now come get some... <loads his 12 gauge Remington with slugs>
...before the government does.
And sorry for responding in a thread about guns, not gun laws, but I dinnae start it (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif).

Hmmm
3 shotguns, all Remington 870 Pump guns, in 12,16 and 20 ga.
Remington 788 .243 (scoped) bit light for deer but excellent on long range varmits of all kinds.
Ruger .44 mag Carbine (Great thick brush deer shooter)
Ruger .22 with scope, more hours carrying this one than all the others combined.

When someone has more than one gun or carries the gun on his person (aka, not for home defense) I do my best to stay away from him/her.
I do not own any working firearm. Nor do I ever want to own one. I have a rifle which I dont know if its WW1 or WW2, it looks like its Italian made, I got no idea where it comes from (passed down from my paternal uncle) and I sure would like you gun-geeks to tell me somethign about it. Will post any info on markings that I can find and a Pic of it once I get this $@#@ camera to work. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
Does a marble ammo, full co2 powered paintball marker count? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Heh, rip, you're right about that.

Must live in a remote part of Flordia (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Btw don't come to Texas, they don't even make a fuss if you forget to tell them your toting rifles to Montana for a 2 week elk hunt (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)
I've been trying to get my hands on a .30 BMG receiver (couldn't get a working one shipped) for a while now, have the tri-pod, and a few barrels.
The BAR, M9 Bazooka, MG, and Panzerfaust replica are wall hangers, so I don't consider them guns (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) Nice for scaring the neighbors.
Hand guns are for whimps.

2 Glock 17
1 Colt .45
1 Beretta 92F
All Soft Airguns (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif).
I also have a single shot .22 rifle that my granddad used to hunt squirrels with, but it's been lying around unleaned for about 30 years, so I'm not putting anything live in that one (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif). I'm not sure it even counts as a weapon, or hope not actually as it's illegal to own weapons without the proper training and certificates (which I don't have) here in Sweden.

My collection is widely varied.
I have numerous handguns several that I carried as a part of my civilian career. Police Officer)
I have several "flavors" of .45's although a couple less than before. I own a few Glocks (my favorite now) some S&W's and a couple Rugers.
My long guns are a small WW2 collection, all allied. A couple varmint / target rifles. Same for 22's, 2 shotguns (I love over unders for hunting and skeet) and a couple blackpowder rifles I use for deer hunting and plinking. Black powder is a real tester of marksmanship and doping bullet drop! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
All are locked in a fairly large safe. All have never been used for commission of a crime nor has anyone ever been threatened by any of them except in line of duty.
I don't believe registration solves anything except to ostracize a portion of the population. I am in favor of severe penalties far crimes committed with a firearm. I am not in favor of a society that feels it has the "right" to force others to bend to their will without evidence of a wrongdoing. One of the nice things about the U.S. is that you have CHOICES.
You don't like meat, fine. No one forces you to be vegan.
You don't like premarital sex, don't have any.
You don't like hunting, don't hunt.
You don't like motorcycles, don't drive one.
Don't like airplanes, don't fly.
Just don't feel you can tell others what they can do because you don't like it or fear it, unless they are doing something illegal / harmful to another.
ETC ETC
In other words, mind yer own business! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
