nope that is normal , XP installs all that by default, i personally remove all that it lets you , im not sure if it helps , but it hasnt ever hurt my connection . what u want to look at is if you have an isp that alows compression . connect then go to status -----> details , then look at compression . my isp uses mppc compresion, and it helps my ping . im pinging 130 on a 34.6 connection , turned down from 49.9 . you have to see what chipset your modem used ,rockwell , convexant, usr. and try to limit your speed for a more stable connect . sometimes disabling V.90 helps to make it more stable aswell . another thing you must do is disable call waiting , and make sure your modem is the only device plugged into the jack. I use hyperterminal to check my modem status , and line condition . its under programs , accessories, communication . there are line commands that are dependent on your modem chipset . You can check to see if your modem is retraining , or speed shifting . any retrains will cause udp loss . and you can alos see your phone line signal to noise ratio SNR . that can tell you if you have a line issue . drop me a mail BGB , i think i still have your # , but put it in anyways , we'll see what we can do
