Title: Happy Thanksgiving All...
Post by: Seagoon on November 22, 2005, 08:06:48 PM
Hi All,

We are going to be spending the Thanksgiving Holiday with my parents in NJ, and I'm not sure how much access I'll have to the PC up there and I didn't want to go without wishing everyone on the BB a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving.

I have to admit the last few weeks has been rough, we had another miscarriage in the congregation and one of the newborns is very, very, ill and had to be airlifted to Duke Medical in Raleigh. Nonetheless, God has been very good to me and mine this year, and I give thanks for all the ways he has provided for us.  The year has been full of unexpected providences - I still remember the way you all provided the wonderful blessing of over a year of AH2 to me, and am very thankful for it indeed.  Not that I wouldn't be thankful for this community even if you hadn't been so gracious... ;)

Hope you all have a wonderful time with your families, may you all be pleasantly afflicted with contentedness and post-turkey stupor.

Psalm 107:8-9

- SEAGOON

PS: Here's another recent bizzarre providence. One of my recent sermons got selected for the Beliefnet.com "Thanksgiving Audio" page (http://www.beliefnet.com/story/179/story_17947_1.html). Wasn't even a very good sermon.

This will be my families 1st holiday after the loss of my Mom.

I would like to say that I am looking forward to thanksgiving and being thankful for this past year. However , right now , I really dont feel it.

Rip, polity, the season and the rules around here prevent me expressing the sentimets that picture evokes.

Suffice to say that it's pretty much outta place in this thread, and yer brain could use a hydraulic pressure increase by way of a boot in yer ass.

He is my sports hero. I think he best describes the emotional feelings that I have during a family gathering to break bread.

Regards, and happy holidays!

Happy turkey day all.

Rip I think you should invite that guy in the picture over for dinner. Beetle as well, then they could discuss domestic issues and how to resolve them.

I wouldn't have a problem sitting down with OJ.... as long as he doesn't get to carve the bird.

I am most thankfull for family and friends this year. I have realized over the past few weeks that I could not have come anywhere near what I am now without their help. I am extremly thankfull that my grandfather is still around. One of my heros. And finally I am thankfull for or troops who dedicate their lives to protecting us so we can eat lots of turkey and pass out watching football. I would trade my place with any soldier in any part of the world just to allow them to spend the holiday with their family.Being one of my last with my family for a long while I will enjoy every second of it.

Happy Thanksgiving All

I've been invited to Thanksgiving dinner by two different ex-wives, so I must be doing something right. ;)

I thank God I can work and take care of my kids...

God Bless You All...

Seagoon, I think perhaps you view yourself and your work a bit more critically than others do.  Your sermon was selected for the qualities of the speaker, and not the qualities of the speech.  Congratulations.

Mourn briefly your losses, but celebrate long your gains when it comes to family.  He that raises a large family does, indeed, while he lives to observe them, stand a broader mark for sorrow; but then he stands a broader mark for pleasure too.  - Benjamin Franklin

Happy Thanksgiving sir.
