Title: Good Freeware CD to MP3 ripper?
Post by: LePaul on November 26, 2005, 10:19:55 PM
Got a few CDs I'd like to convert over to Mp3, I had a good program for this ages ago but cant find it.  I figure, by now, there must be something out there freeware that's worlds better.

Suggestions?  Thanks!

I've used CDex in the past, but it's been a while so I don't know if there are any better ones. But CDex is small, it's freeware and does what you want it to do.. You can try it from Download.com (http://www.download.com/CDex/3000-2140-10226370.html) for example.

QCD is, imo, the best mp3 player around, itll rip to mp3 and many others. The nero plug in is cool as is the auto-tag.

I run this in the background to get my jam on.

edit: I see they added a "stream saver" and a grip of new plug-ins. It rips mp3 in full speed. I also suggest using the Monkey lossless audio compressor plug-in.

Well I can only convert my CD into some Vogg Orbis format, not MP3.  Hmm

Just use media player.  It does a great job.

I've always used Easy CD-DA Extractor, grab it from download.com.

Heck, go to download.com, search for cd rip programs, and pick from the millions they have there.

There's a plugin available for Quint..seems to work

Does Windows Media Player do it?  Dang...i was wondering

Edit:  Duh.  I guess the "Rip" tab option was a bit too obvious.  :rofl

AudioGrabber (http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/) with the LAME plugin.
