Title: So OK oppose the war, but to do this?
Post by: GRUNHERZ on November 27, 2005, 01:01:11 PM
Anyway back on track after this silly interruption by overzelous hall monotirs....

I can understand people opposing the war, but to see this heap of garbage Ramsey Clark now join the Saddam defense team is simply outrageous.

Ya know it seems to me that it would have been far simpler to just drop a 'nade down that spider hole a while back..........

What amazes me is the level of confidence that the trial will become a farce and no real facts from Saddam will be allowed to get into public.

Experience with Miloshevich "trial" was really successfull.

Russian forces in Chechnya don't capture alive any persons who can say something interesting. I mean - it's about "democracy" and "free press".

I am really afraid of mis-spelling some words that are supposed to be replaced with "*"s. :( I probably need an English spell-checker that will show me something like "did you mean **** instead of [what you typed]?"

Why hold a fair trial? Just shoot him in the back of the head like all the others the new regime have been knocking off (http://observer.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,6903,1651789,00.html).

I doubt you've ever read an english newspaper Eagler, but anyway, let us know when Allawi retracts the statements he made to the Observer.

Fox news picked up something similar earlier this month. (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,175999,00.html), or did you have your fingers in your ears as usual?

I think it only applies to the military, not to civils.

for every 100 good actions, 1 of these taints everything else.

"The road has acquired the dubious distinction of being the most dangerous in the world because of the number of suicide attacks and ambushes carried out by insurgents against coalition troops. In one four-month period earlier this year it was the scene of 150 attacks"

hmm - I guess they should stop and interview every car before they open fire eh?
I think I would take another route if I was an average Iraq

Well Lazs, it was the Guardian broke the story about the Iraqis using chemical agents against the Kurds in Halabja in 1988, in fact one of the Observer journalists investigating in Iraq was later captured and executed by the Saddam regime for espionage. Given that the Halabja incident was one of those cited as a prime justification for invading Iraq in 2003 and as I don't recall you or Eagler or any of the other neo-con salivating monkeys screeching about *that* story's origin when you were shouting for war, I guess your disdain for that particular news outlet is selective and hence as irrational as the rest of your postings.

As far as the Allawi statements go, he still hasn't retracted them, but I'm sure you know better than him, right?

That's all.

Article3
Section. 3.

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

Says nothing about civilian or military.  It must apply to everyone then.

Short sighted....

Having a prominent American defend Saddam will just add legitimacy to the procedings. You all shouild be proud of the freedoms you enjoy.

Not to mention preserving that American ideal that everyone should get a fair trial.  Or does he not deserve one because people have heard he's a bad, bad man?
