Post by: Wolfala on November 30, 2005, 03:34:23 AM
Said November 23rd, but I can't find a single theater in the US that has it.

I've heard that the left wing liberal conspiracy theorists will love it.

I'll let you know. ;)

Yep! George Clooney's character has that evil Spook/Contractor act down pat in the trailers.

I'm sure there is an anti-US slant in the movie somewhere...Clooney would be the clue.

How so?

IMHO, Clooney has had his share of patriotic fluff... The Three Kings, The Peacemaker, etc.

ER star George Clooney today criticised US plans to invade Iraq, claiming George W Bush was running the American government “like the Sopranos“.

The Hollywood actor accused the President of cutting a deal with France and Russia to ensure the UN Security Council will not complain when “we go into a war and kill a lot of innocent people“.

He told the PBS television network: “Are we going to try and talk [to Saddam Hussein] ... without jumping in and killing people first?

“I don’t believe we’re going to wait until the last resort to do it. That’s what bothers me.”

He said Mr Bush and his cabinet were behaving like Big Tony and his mobster family in the TV show.

“The Government itself is running exactly like the Sopranos.”

Clooney said in the current climate it would be impossible to make a film like his 1999 satire on the first Gulf War, Three Kings.

The heartthrob actor is the latest celebrity to publicly oppose American policy on Iraq. His criticism comes amid growing opposition in the US to war against Iraq.

Last month more than 100 entertainers including Martin Sheen, Kim Basinger and Samuel L Jackson sent a letter to Mr Bush urging him not to start a war.

Sean Penn recently visited Baghdad to try to push for a peaceful way to end the crisis.

Tens of thousands of anti-war protesters held demonstrations at several rallies across the US during the weekend.

Rip, I'm pretty sure that most actors don't let their personal views get in the way of an acting job.

I'm going to have to watch Three Kings again. I didn't get the impression that it was satirical.

Watch it with your eyes open next time...its listed on the top 10 anti-war movies:
http://worldfilm.about.com/cs/toppicks/tp/antiwar.htm

I must say that everyone that I know is anti-war, but there are many that believe that sometimes war is necessary.

When did "anti-war" equate to "satirical"?

You stated that Clooney's movies we're anti-US. I don't think either Three Kings or Peacemaker qualifies as anti-US.

Three King qualifies a ripoff of Kelly's Heros, but they failed to ripoff any of the characteristics that made Kelly's Heros good & added in some sap.  It was anti-American because I'm an American & suffered through watching it.

Dude, he's one of the leaders of the F.A.G., a terrorist front in league with North Korea.  What planet are you on?

I was in three kings actually.  You can barely see me in the party seen.  I played basket ball with mark whalberg and george clooney.  Both of them were pretty cool and signed aoutgraphs and such.  The film used US Marines as extras and filmed near Yuma, AZ.
