Lately myself and others have become frustrated with the unbalanced numbers. Knights have been outnumbered 2-1 by both sides almost constantly, takes a LOT of fun out of the game.
I was looking for ideas to try and balance the sides more. This isn't just a knght problem, it's happened to other counties in the past also.
Lowering perk planes value only helps so much when you have 20 people trying to defend on 2 fronts against 60.

I agree with Bear. We've (bish) have been at those ends before too. I noticed the other day. Bish took a field next to knight HQ then I noticed the rooks roster drop by 20 and the knight roster gain 20. I think side switching has alot to do with it. I know there are people who log on and look at the numbers and base locations then decide what side they're going to fly on. WHat is it with Sunday evenings when there are 230+ rooks on. What a total waste because Knits and Bish then start porking bases and nobody wins. Just my oppinion here.

Life is tough, get over it. If you want to have side balance, switch to the outnumbered side.

I can't see that there is any option other than living with it.

Get off the Chessboard and come fly in the COMBAT THEATER.
Plenty of room for everyone. :aok

Problem with the CT is that it has turned from the nice polite "Gentlemans Club" it was during the first year to "Let's see who can be the biggest a**hole club".
Takes the fun out of it.
As far as side balancing goes I can't quite agree with you now, I prefer being on the outnumbered side, targetrich environement :)

Then wouldn't you say it's time to take it back from the "Squareheads"?
The 78th FG is reforming with quality people to fly and fight in the CT.
Tune out Ch. 200 and come and fly and fight with us or along side us.

Off topic, but weren't you in JG54? Why go from a LW to a USAF named squad? Seems you'd already shown the interest in LW in joining JG54 in the first place.
Just curious. :)

Yes, in fact I was one of a few great guys that started JG 54 GRUNHERZ and I was proud to be it's first Kommodore or C.O. We started with a great group of experenced guys from several past squads and we had a great run while we did. In fact I say looking back we were pretty much the ONLY LW squad of any size flying exclusively in the CT when everyone else was flying Allied. We kept doing this to try and bring more folks in to fly in the CT, frankly because at the time most of us couldn't stand MA flying.
I had to leave JG54 ages ago and turn over command to others as at the time my job with the Fire Dept. and going to school to get my Paramedic ticket had to take precidence. Since that time JG 54 has went it's own way. As many of the other pilots of the squad did that left not long after I did - many can be found now in the HELLS ANGLES in the MA. (Trators! :D)
As for why I went from flying LW to a US squad - well JG 54 has that covered and most I see flying in the CT now are flying LW planes - SO... to help the CT out and get it back to it's glory days we there were many squads that flew in the CT - we will start an Allied squad. The 78th FG "DUXFORD EAGLES". :aok
Also, it doesn't matter to me as I have been in about every kind of squad there is in several different sims. Here is a list of my previous Squads:
Warbirds:
JG 51 "Molders"
27th Sentai
No.305 Sqdn. RAF (Polish)
Dawn of Aces:
Jasta 12
Aces High:
63rd FS, 56th FG "Wolfpack"
VF-27 "Hellcats"
27th Sentai
325th FG "Checkertails"
NO. 800 Sqdn. F.A.A.
JG 3 "Udet"
322nd BG (M) "Annihilators"
78th FG "Duxford Eagles"
JG 54 "Grunherz"
CT Staff
Wings Over Vietnam:
VF-84 "Jolly Rogers"
It's not the aircraft you fly but HOW you fly and the guys you fly with. I have learned something everywhere I flew and made what I consider to be some of my best friends while flying.
Hope that answered you Krusty, didn't mean to write a novel. :D
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Well, one way to stop side switching is placing a limit on when or how often you can switch. I'm not familiar yet with how AH is set up on some things like this so maybe it does and I haven't noticed 'cause I don't switch, but I remember AW did that. Could only switch once a week or something like that.
Wow, people use the Combat Theater? Heh. Everytime I sign on t's empty. :D
-
Heya Saxman.
There is a limit to switch. Can only switch every 5 hours.
This used to be 12 hours (I think if I remember correctly).
In my opinion 5 hours is much much better as it enables me to switch if I feel a country is badly outnumbered and then switch back the same, say evening.
While I don't switch much now, if any, I did switch alot a few months back to fly for the country with least numbers.
-
With side switching, it was, at one time, only once every 24 hours. I think you should be limited to one switch per week. And if you're a member of a squad, then the whole squad should have to move. The reason for being in a squad is to fly with them. But this is all IMHO.
-
I do not have even a remote interest in a once per week limit. Some of us enjoy flying for all sides, and often for the side with least numbers. If you guys want to fly on the horde side forever, that's great. The rest of us need the rest of you to ensure plenty of targets.
I'd love to see something like an open pass for certain people/squads. I used to find even the 5 hour limit restrictive, as the times during which I flew often meant I'd log in as whatever side had a horde, switch, and then see the numbers swing around so that I was still on a horde side.
Sure, many people would abuse a total lack of control over switching, but if it were available on a limited basis, surely it could be monitored far easier, preventing overt abuse of the system.
-
Hub, I'm not sure what you mean by that. But as for the way you and a few others change sides and fly, I have no problem and
you. The problem is a lot of the others, so I have to stand by a limit and the idea of a whole squad moving or staying.
