IIRC, the U.S. hasn't shot a torpedo in anger since WWII.
Looks like we're out of practice, eh?
-
What kind of naval ordinance is modeled in AH? And how accurate is the ship modeling? Any Long Lances in the game at all?

From the same website:http://www.wimp.com/aircraft/ (http://www.wimp.com/aircraft/)
-
Ships in AH go so fast cars would have trouble keeping up with them.

I don't think it's fun to watch people die in aircraft accidents...

ouch. the terrible thing in seeing those accidents is that you see what'll happen next, but there's nothing you can do

The worst tragedy out of all those airplane clips is to watch that P38 barrel roll into the ground at a WWII Aircraft show.
When did this happen?

Umm, can someone fill me on on WTF happens between that F-18 and the A4??

I believe the P-38 was at the Duxford Airshow in July 1996. The pilot was unfortunately killed.

Was that Jeff Ethell?

I think it was a gentleman by the name of "Proudfoot". Jeff Ethell died in Oregon in a different P-38. :cry

The F-18 was releasing a drop tank...The Tank clipped the wing of the A-4...From what I remember the pilot stayed inside the A4 for about 70 seconds trying to save the airplane against orders, before sucessfully bailing...Does anyone know the result of the two F-15's colliding?
Additionally does anyone have any info about the top gun F-18's that collided? post the pic if you have it
Finally I can relate to that fire fighting plane...Reminds me of when I try to pull out of a BnZ in a spit

Thanks Cav, that makes sense now that I watch it again. Man I get a chuckle evertime I see that Airbus choppin down trees, I'll pay extra for airline tickets that include a human pilot please.

IIRC that incident wass when airbus was demonstrating their new computer autopilot system. The pilot was trying to pull up and the auto pilot was trying to land.
Like several other peeps on this board say "If it aint BOING i aint going"

Here ya go Cav, couple very lucky fellas.

F18 Mid-Air Collision-Two F/A-18 Hornets from Top Gun were dog fighting and made a head on pass, just a bit too close. One got home with part of the left wing and left vertical fin and rudder missing, while the other jet is missing everything forward of the cockpit pressure bulkhead and is a flying convertible because the canopy is shattered too.
Ahh...I would have loved to hear the HO whine over chn.200 after that one!
I wonder if they ever settled the score in the DA
