Title: Windows Gurus I got a Q
Post by: Tac on December 03, 2005, 12:19:24 PM
I bought my amd dual core 4400 1mb L2 cache 2 gig ram with 256mb bfg 7800 vid card and its running winxp64pro.

The computer came pre-built with no software and I installed windows with the common settings.

Is there any special settings I need to change in windows so it takes advantage of the dual core cpu? I'd hate to think im running on just one cpu :P

Press Ctrl + Alt + Del

Select the "Task Manager"

Click the "Performance" tab.

You should see two boxes side by side under "CPU Usage History", one for each core.

Also, my motherboard BIOS has an option for 64bit that I can enable or disable. It's disabled because my cpu isn't dual core.
