I need some help from you P51 and P47 skiners on how to make a bare metal look. I mostly skin german planes and not many of them had bare metal but Iv found a 109F that did and have no clue on how to make that shiny metal look.

Luftwaffe was meticulous about about painting / applying surface protectent...
well, least till the supllies ran out....lol

Looks more like it's oversprayed with white, but has dark colors underneath.

I agree with Krusty that this particular plane appears to have temporary white winter camo applied over its normal darker paintjob.
However, on the subject of doing metal, I recommend you do a search for a thread several months ago started by TexMurphy, called "How I Did the Metal" or something very similar to that. It's EXCELLENT. I use his method on all my metal planes.

Fester's metal has been by far the best.
I agree that 109 is probably painted over in white for winter. I haven't done much in the skinning department, but I wonder if overpainting in white could look really cool in a skin.
