Title: Lockups!
Post by: HP38100 on December 09, 2005, 03:32:08 PM
Hi guys. I am experiencing lockups of about about 15 seconds followed by a lockup of either 3 seconds or it crashes. It is very consitant I have a dell 2.? GHZ pc Nvidia (sp) card windows xp profeesional. If you are confident a new machine or OS would help I will buy one. Any suggestions? I dont mind spending on a good machine as long as it fixes my issues.
Thanks!
Steve

NVidia FX5xxx video card, or older, should have the 61.77 NVidia video card drivers installed.

Betond that, I need to see the output from the DXDIAG utility to take a guess at the problem.

61.77 drivers will work fine (if you are running Windows XP or Windows 2000) with the FX5500 cards.  In DXDIAG, under the "Display" tab, look at the driver version number in the upper right quandrant of the panel  The last 4 digits are the NVidia version number.

You can always shoot me a copy of the DXDIAG output and I can take a look at the other elements of the computer as well.

Hi Skuzzy
You were right in you diagnosis. I never was able to get the old drivers loaded but they just released new ones and it fixed the problem. No lockups in 3 days!
Thanks
