I installed a new vid card today (went from nvidia MX4000 to FX5200). I knoticed some lower framerates especially in hanger and ship hanger selection screens. mostly in the 10-13 fps range. i was holding atleast 25-30 in such situations with my old card. It used the drivers built into windows for the card, which i know is a mistake. I went to OmegaDrivers.net but i can't find anything relating to a specific series of card IE 4x, 5x, 6x ect. could anyone link me to the right page, or is there a better driver out there for this card? i was hoping to see some improvment with the upgrade and thusfar it's been dissappointing.

Assuming you have WinXP

Think skuzzy said for that series use the 61.77 video drivers.
-
61.77 is for Win98. 61.76 is for WinXP.

I know Skuzzy's got a lot on his plate these days, but it might be a good idea to post a sticky with a list of the main video cards and which drivers are recomended for them. It doesn't have to have links and all, just the recomended drivers. I see more post on drivers than almost anything else.

61.76 for Windows 98 (hope no one is still using Windows 98 as there will be other problems which cannot be worked around), 61.77 for Windows XP/2000 for all NVidia video cards from the FX5xxx series and back.

I feel for you my friend. One of the worst video cards I ever had but seems very common among my squadmates. I wanted my MX440 back. :D
