To test the collision "model" in the DA. Who's got the worst ping rate?
-
I'm around 180 day in and day out. sometimes 190 sometimes 215.
don't know how/where that ranks.
-
I'm usually 35-50 today I'm sitting at 62-78.
-
Used to have about 280 to 300.
Get right at 200 now.
If I use a certain phone number latetly I can get 170.
-
400+, but I'm not subscribing atm, good luck with the experiment.
-
I'm in the DA now. Come join me.
-
I'm clueless... What is good, higher or lower ping rate? I usually have about 250.
-
he ping is how long the data takes to get where it's going in milliseconds. Ping of 1 is superduperimpossible fast, 500 is taking 5 seconds to get there.
-
500 is half a second. 5000 would be five seconds.
-
Shutup. :lol
-
Pwnt.
-
Umm usually mine is between 800 - 1600.. I'm on satellite which explains the latency. Did I win? May be hard to set up your experiment though, I haven't been on much in the last month.... I would try it though if I could make it.

You want to see how this works, easy.
Get together with your squadies, all roll in same plane. Once your all up and flying in formation get each person to write the distance from him to the other planes around.
If connects are good all around, you'll see distances from 25 - 150.
If conncects are poor someone will show differnce 250 or up.
IE if you look back & see joe at 400, he'll look up and see you at 650.
We fly an internet flight sim, yet half the people here have no clue about lag.
Tis a strange world.

This is not going to prove anything. Just FYI.
See this thread (http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=163519) for a disccusion as to why.

If they can film it and visually demonstrate how latency works in regards to collisions, they'll have done more for those who don't understand it than anyone at HTC has.
Not a flame or anything, it's just that it's difficult to figure out what Dale means sometime. Also, the collision on both FEs in the scenario we were discussing in the locked thread still confuses me. If they can show what happens on BOTH FEs, that will clear a lot of things up.
edit: Also, I'm still curious as to how damage is assigned in a mutual collision. I'm hoping that gets sorted out as well.
