Title: Perk whining for people with high perk amounts
Post by: Arcades057 on December 13, 2005, 09:27:41 PM
Seriously, you see people complaining all the time "that n00b stole my kill!  Wahwah!"  I say if the person who got the kill "stolen" has more accumulated perk points than the stealer, and then he complains about the "steal," he should be fined about 100-1000 perks.

I think this would be a good idea.  Now all the people who brag about how man perks they have can find a way to a) shut up and let some "n00bs" get some perks, or b) lose all those perks by complaining like little girls with skinned knees.

Ya but that was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back and I only flew bombers for about six months and didnt know about the BBS almost a year and a half later. Even then I didnt post untill around '03 two years after joinin AH. I mean waht that guy said is the stupidest thing Iv ever read on these boards. If I get a kill stole from me Im ganna be pissed off. I say if a plane is going down IE missing a wing or tail. If anyone shoots it while its falling down sould get killed. Kinda a kill stealing kill shooter. Now thats better then what he said.

Doing anything to deliberately grief other players on your side is just flat wrong. Some of us don't play for perks, or the war, or how many WTGs we get for a vulch run. Some of us play simply for the pleasure of shooting things down. When you newbs, desparate for perks, start diving in to steal kills, in the vain hope we'll suddenly respect you for landing 3 kills in an La7/N1k (even though you had to steal them), and have the nerve to complain about our indignation, we see how the scoring system has failed to add anything at all to the game, and I begin to fantasize about having KS turned off for a night.

STFU. This is the stupidest thing I have read on the boards in a while, and that's really saying something.

I like stealing Hub's kills though.  You should hear the shrill, girly whines on the squad channel.

First let me address the rude "aces:"  Get out more.  Some of you surely behave like this is a real-life thing here.  It's a game.  If you're on a kill and shooting wildly and missing and the con turns to me, I'm GOING to kill him.  You missed him?  Fine, don't starting crying like a baby.  Like a n00b missing his first kill.  Don't want to check-6 me next time?  Fine, I'd rather you didn't.  Half the time I get check-6 calls it's from some "ace" trying to make me break off the kill I'm after to steal it.  This is why I don't check-6 anyone unless they're clearly unaware of the danger.

Now let me address the common-sensical "Don't steal kills."  I have had far more stolen than I have stolen.  I was berated once or twice for "stealing" kills that attacked me.  I have broken off of many, many kills when I was warned away.  There's a level of maturity that goes with playing a video game as an adult.  That level apparently does not reach some of you childish "aces" and that's too bad.

As for the rest:  I find it hard to believe that someone who constantly posts things like "QUAH" can say that this is the stupidest thing they've ever read.  Unless they (as another poster stated) don't proofread their posts.

Now steal away, ya bunch of whining, crying, kill-stealing-but-complaining-when-others-do-it, HOing-but-crying-when-others-do-it, get-on-200-and-whine "aces."

Flame on.

Do you think aces in WWII cried when a plane was shot down before they got to it?

Have a beer in the officers club afterwards and be glad the basser is dead.

Hey, some good people!  Glad to see I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I don't ever complain when someone "steals" my kill; I just release the breath I'd been holding and move on to another con.  I usually fly a Zero, so after one or two engagements I'm almost spent; it's annoying to get assist after assist, sure, but the fact that I tagged the guy at all is fine for me.  I know eventually I'll get hoarded and take down at least one other guy, therefore making that day's flight worthwhile.

to you guys!  Glad to see there are still people who remember it's a game!  :aok

I didnt see that situation being discussed.  What was discussed was lamers following down a falling non-airworthy wreck firing away, to get credit for something that someone else already acomplished.  If you want to discuss how aces in WWII handled that situation.... A P51 pilot did get belted by a famous WWII ace after pulling a similar stunt so that it would look like a kill on his gun camera.

But if you want to talk about the situation in your quote, here is a humorous little informal AAR by Tom McGuire as told to, and recounted by General George Kenny....
Quote
"You see, General," said Tommy (McGuire), "that Fourty-ninth gang up at Tacloban didnt want Dick (Bong) going along with them any more, as he was stealing too many Nips from them, so he came down here to see if we would let him fly  with the 475th.  We figured we were good enough so we could take care of our own interests along that line, so we said it would be okay.  This morning he saw me getting ready to take off for a look at the Jap fields over on Mindanno and suggested that he go along.  I had a hunch I shouldnt have let him come with me, but I had to be polite, so I gave in.  We picked up a wingman apiece and took off.

"we cruised all over the island looking for something to shoot at, but the bombers and strafers have about cleaned the place out.  We had just decided to call it off and go home when we spotted a couple of Oscars just ahead of us, near Pamubulon Island, flying low just over the treetops.  There were on my side and I figured mabey Dick hadnt seen them so I barely whispered over the radio to my wingman to follow me and I dive to take one of the Nips.  One nice burst, and down he goes.  I turn to knock off the other Oscar but this eavesdropping Bong (motioning to Dick who was now sitting across the tent grinning) had heard me talking to my wingman and had located the Nip.  Before I could get in position, I saw him blow up and Bong pulls up alongside of me waggling his wings and grinning at me, like the highway robber he is.  That makes him thirty-nine and me thirty-one.  Im still eight behind.  I bet when this war is over, they'll call me Eight Behind McGuire."

Now there was some joking around in that story, but it obiously was a topic wasnt it?

Mabey the perk fine could be imposed on those who come to the bbs and whine about other people whining :)

Love when ppl try to put WWII up to this game. This isnt ww2 so get that right. And yes like the little stupid noob said this is a game, a game that I like to play and when some itiot like arcades whines about people whining that makes him look really stupid and then to say they sould take perks away from the people that have them. what I think it is, is that hes mad because he can only get a kill if he steals it and he dosent have any perks so he doesnt want anyone else to have them. I fly this game to kill other planes not to beat them up then have some noob drop in and finnish them just to get the easy kill. Arcades if your ganna keep posting stupid stuff like that on the BBS i think its better for you to go back to playing scrabble or candyland. Next thing you know hes ganna be asking for the B29 or nook

This is possibly the worst thread evar, so I might as well jump in.  All I can offer is an abbreviated version of my take on things for those who find themselves getting chewed for kill stealing, and any other n00bs who might not want to piss anyone else off.

1. In a furball it's on like Donkey Kong biatch.
2. If you see a friendly engaged 1 on 1 and there is no other imminent danger in the area call out on range "you need a hand, or you got him".  The courtesey will be appreciated either way.
3. If someone waves you off respect it.
4. Call your kills out, BUT ONLY IF YOU ARE SURE THEY ARE DOWN.  The most comical instance of kill stealing I have ever seen was when I blew the wing off a niki.  I called out "nik down" and the nearest friendly promptly followed him down spraying and praying, and flew straight into the ground.
5. Anyone lame enough to shoot at an obviously dead plane (missing tail, wing, etc.) deserves whatever bellybutton chewing they get.

Oh, one more thing.  In accordance with your wishes to take perks from whiners, the only honorable thing you can do is immediately surrender all your perks for starting this thread.

 Few quick points:
If I'm shooting, it's not wildly. If I shoot a plane, it's going down (not that this prevents Leviathn from spraying them. That's the only way he gets kills). I only steal kills from squaddies, and newbs. I don't act like this in real life. I'm fully aware it's a game. Also, your previous post isn't the stupidest thing I've read on these boards; that honor is now bestowed upon your followup post.

When I'm back in the game, I'm going to find you, and I'm going to steal all of your kills.

Warmest retards,

First to hubsonfire:  I fly Rook.  Steal all the kills you want, kiddo

Leviathan:  I never come on here to diss a particular person.  I've learned in life, as online, if you cast a wide enough net, the perps will reveal themselves by becoming defensive.  They have.

Ack-Ack:  The original point of the post was an attempt at levity.  Since a couple of people got mad at the post, I took the other road.  It's really funny to see how they've reacted.

Geary420:  Sure.  You want the couple perks I have, they're yours.  Until they perk the Zero, I'm straight without any.  Besides vehicle perks.  I like the Tiger sometimes.

Larry:  You toss around the word "n00b" quite a bit you know.  The funny thing is you're probably a little kid not yet gone through puberty and don't remember a game called Air Warrior.  So I'll forgive you for your attempt to discredit me with your little-boy posts.  Oh yeah:  Learn to spell too.  The teacher gives you spelling tests for a reason.

Dont need to spell things right. This is a BBS for a game not a spelling contest. AW lol I flew AW and it sucked and I toss around "stupid" to because thats what your posts are stupid. If you knew how to fly you wouldnt have to steal kills. Then whine about people geting pissed off at you and chewing your arse out for it. Like I said before they should take perks away from people like you.

Here, allow me to explain this one more time for those not bright enough to follow it (Larry, hubsonfire, I'm looking in your general direction)...

The thread is about perking whining from people who whine about things they do all the time, as in one of you "aces" "steals" my kill and that's OK.  Then I "steal" yours, after which you get on vox and whine about it happening to you.

Understand?  Or do I need to be more specific?  It's clear you both do this, seeing as you became angry and defensive about it.  You are also probably the same people who get on 200 and cry "NICE HO N00B" when someone shoots you down, or "nice vulchtard."

See, these things are fine to say... providing you do not DO them yourself.  I will never complain about kill stealing as apparently I've done it myself.  I will never complain about vulching because I have helped to shut down bases.  I will not complain about the head-on because I have learned to either HO or be HO'ed.  I will not complain about spawn camping because I have done something like this (of course I usually sit about 800 yards to the 12-o'-clock of the spawning tank, though, not behind).  I will also never again complain about dropping the VHs in tank town, because spawn campers have driven me to do that.  I will not complain about someone dropping bombs on the FH when a good vulch is going on because once when I started playing this game again I dropped a fighter hangar, thinking it wasthe VH.  I will also not complain about being killed by an LA-7, a N1k, a P51, a FW190, or anything else; since I fly the Zero if I get killed by any of them then it means I did not control the fight, therefore I deserved to lose.

The age thing was a bit wrong on my part, I know.  Usually people online act about 10-years younger than they really are; you were acting like you were about seven, hubsonfire and Larry.  Therefore I assumed you to be going through that awkward stage where your voice gets higher as you complain about a kill stealing incident on vox.  And if anyone has seen the majority of posts I have made (like you have, Slash) then you know that I intentionally post things like this to troll for people who will take offense... as you both did.  Leviathan seemed to get it.  So did a few others.

Bottom line:  Complain away at the evil of the world.  Cry on 200, vox, to you mom, anyone who cares, me included.  Just don't complain about something you do!

Let me say this again since you cant see how stupid your post is. What your saying is if you steal someones kill and they tell you off they should loose perks if they have more then you. So your trying to take others perks away the perks that they have worked for and have saved up just because some "noob" steals thier kill, and tells em off. I have thousands of perks and I dont like that some guy wants to take the perks that Iv earned for the past 4 1/2 years just because he cant get any. You say we should shut up and let some "noobs" get some perks. I have no problem with that, I DO have a problem with people diveing in after I did all the work and get a kill that he didnt earn. And I know that if there wasnt a kill shoter that you would get fraged everytime you did that. You say you fly the Zeke and you want perks well thats the wrong plane for perk hording. I hate to bust your little bubble but if you want perks find a base thats being vulched grab a La5 or 109G2 and join in. 40kills later you can have enough to get in your 262 and loose em all. Then just start all over. So quit your whineing on here and go play the game.

If the plane is blatantly blown apart and falling, yeah ok, I can see the anger. I apologize, I misunderstood the topic.

In any case, if anything other than cheating in the hacker sense angers you enough to post here, maybe games aren't a good thing to do with your time. I've been playing online games for 10 years, I've been there. This is a hobby though, it shouldn't make you angry, you should be having fun.

To the aces and to the "dweebs".....we're all here to have fun, and I bet 95% of the time, all of you are.

Don't worry about the age thing, arcades; I really don't give a **** what you think of me. The point I was trying to convey, initially, (and I probably did so with less tact than others would), is that this game doesn't need people like you.

You profess to do the things that the community, as a whole, finds distasteful, and you post in here that we all need to STFU AND be penalized, because you want more perks.

The suggestion that you find something else to do is, in my estimation, a great idea.

LOL.

As for your sugestion Arcades it's not a very good one, in any kind of way actually. First of all in order to make it happen you need some way of determining wether he is whining or not. Then you need to know what counts as a whine and what counts as a rant or just some friendly banter between two good old online friends.

Second, you need some way to actually "punish" the guy, this could more or less only be done through a player who detirmined wether it was a whine or not, he could also missuse his powers.

This is an all out bad sugestion and that is why people don't like it and don't agree with you.

Also, this sounds more like a way for you or any other n00b to try and make fast perk points since you know it will take too long to earn them yourselves.

Quite obviously you haven't been here long enough to understand how it works or why your, in your opinion, so good suggestion was immediatly beaten down.
