"Some of you may recognize my name, and I'll go ahead and answer the question for you. Yes, I'm Ted Nugent's wife. Many know about my husband's bold attitude on politics, hunting and, especially guns. Maybe you've heard one of his proverbs, "If you can't speak English, get the Hell out of America." Months ago, I'll admit, I wasn't as supportive of this phrase, but considering the events this past week, I, and many other women, will proudly back up this statement as a new motto. We must protect this land with every cell in our bodies. We must be less charitable about potentially evil forces in our land. Lately, I have met many people who are saying the same things, and more. Grandmothers, school teachers, police officers, and ministers are in complete support of defending our country and destroying evil. But I was astounded the other day, when I went into a local coffee shop where dozens of people, mostly senior citizens were gathering for breakfast. I couldn't help but overhear rampant conversations, all focusing on the plane crashes. Then, a demure, elderly woman began pounding her fist on the table. Everyone turned to look at her and when she had our attention, this white-haired pistol shouted, "Nuke the diddlyers!""

That old idiot apparently lived here all her life and elected officials that consistently conducted policy of storing trouble for US.
Like going everywhere and pissing off people all around the world, for good and sometimes bad reasons and not finishing the job and leaving enemies alive.
Of course while we were pissing everyone off, they did not care to think that someone may dare to fight back eventually.
They stored trouble by stopping technological progress in many areas (nuclear energy) and diverting it in others to government-controlled socialist ways (Apollo program anyone).
Supporting people who were our enemies for short-term gain - like Afghan Taliban instead of more moderate factions.
Limiting immigration to US of people from other countries who share our values and are willing to work hard while being too lasy herself to even procreate - see the birth rates and declining populations. That is beside missing the opportunity to rob hostile regimes/countries of their best people, brains and enterpreneurship and have them on our side.
So in twenty years or so when countries like China, Russia, India and the rest catch up with us in technology, we will be just another minor power with elderly overweight population of 300 million instead of 1 billion we could have been.
Now that squeak would like us to piss off Russia, China, India, Pakistan and the whole Middle East and the rest of the world by using the nukes on their borders and covering them with radioactive dust. (I bet anything that if we did melt the Afghanistan to slug, mr. Bin Laden would pop up a week later and catch us with our pants down again.)
Then she will die of old age and we will end up holding the bag and our children too.
Where was she ten years ago with her suggestions? Didn't she read in newspapers their proclamations to kill all americans for years? Oh, right, she is an american....

i'm sure mzzz nugent would show her support by picking grapes here in napa when all the migrant workers stay in mexico.
hell, she might like cleaning hotel rooms and office bathrooms too. or working for 4.00 an hour pressing laundry or any of the other myriad of jobs done by immigrants.
after all it's not below a real american hero like herself right?
edit - and oh yeah - miko2d, who is wrong about everything, was right for once - she is a haggard, rough-rode squeak! now if ispar agrees and the moon turns red, we'll know the apocolypse is upon us.

Pretty damn ignorant article too.
talking about not trusting turban-wearing taxi-drivers. Uhh... even if the folks who did this did dress traditionally, they wouldn't necessarily be in turbans. And the fact of it is, these guys had money -- a toejamload of it. They wore suits. While we were profiling and anal probing every burnoosed guy with a suntan, these folks were cruising past the checkpoints with nary a second glance.
While we were harassing everybody who "don't speak amurrican" to our pleasing, these dudes were plotting our downfall.
To use this as an attack against immigrants and non-English speakers I find insulting. There are people in this country who don't speak English and yet come from families who have lived where they are longer than it was the United States. And I ain't just talking about a handful of Native Americans.
Mrs. Nuge is also wrong when she asserts that English is the official language of the USA. We don't have an official language; we don't have an official religion either. So you can speak Spanish all you want and wear a turban, and be as diddlyin' American as you or I.
The enemy is not uneducated, illiterate, or ignorant of English. Any organization with the resources to invest in an act of this sort can certainly overcome these ridiculous little barriers.
So why can't we?

Sorry, the principle this country was founded on is that if you don't agree, you can say so and do whatever you are legally able to do work for a change that will satisfy you. You don't like that? Establish a Fascist party and win the Executive and Legislative branches. Then you might have something to stand on. Till then? Practice your preaching: Put up, or shut up.

It's a good thing that this rule wasn't in effect when my Swedish, German or French ancestors came to America about 120 years ago.

Why shouldn't immigrants to OUR land be required to learn it's language??? It's retarted to have Spanish as the primary language in major cities such as Miami. Yep, if you are too lazy to learn OUR language, please LEAVE.
If more ppl thought in line with the ideals in the article, we wouldn't be in the freakin mess we are in now..

europe is a little less provincial about languages - most people i have run into there speak 3 or more languages.
what you speak isn't so important because language is just a way to convey forms from your mind to the next - the method is irrelevant, the forms are important. in america it has some heart wrenching nationalist overtones or somethin - i dont know ive never been able to figure it out.
i live in a sea port so i hear all kinds of stuff - the people i sit next to at work speak chinese and russian all day and it doesnt really bug me.
it's kinda funny how one of the most advanced nations on earth can have such novel ideas about things.
i do agree that people fitting the terrorist profile should be scrutinized more in airport lines even though they are probably innocent but that's just common sense. as long as you are professional about it i dont see how bag searching and polite question asking is such a travesty...
only in america is the individual so overblown that we avoid common sense! still, scrutinizng someone is a far cry from banishing them for their language.
and even if she ever did make a point, who the hell is she? she married some idiot that had one hit song in his whole career and 20yrs ago at that! she'd be slanging hash at dennys if it werent for him prolly.

What I DID do was let Miko know that his wailing and ranting over the political mistakes the ijits in this country made over the past 25 years (when he was in russia I belive) is kinda gettin old, and that in South Africa, that kinda hindsight is a lot more valid than it is here.

FYI, I did my time, served my nation, and came home to some hugahunk like yerself, who knew NOTHIN about me, what I stood for, what I belive in and said to my uniform, not unlike you... "Nazi" and "Baby Killer" along with a few other not so nice things.

Apologies to Rip and Hang. Sometimes it can be hard to tell what you guys are actually saying. I'm not accusing you of fascism (yeah, I know it sounds that way), just saying that that particular argument is rather reminiscent of fascism. 'Cept in a fascist nation they might not let ya leave - they'd just imprison you.

Sorry to say I gotta itchy trigger finger lately too. Every morning; as my mind catches up to current events I find myself wishin I had a time machine. :(
I have all kindsa guilty thoughts as the day wears on.. 'profiling' and 'retribution' and 'revenge' and 'nuke the bastards' along with other even more politicaly incorrect thoughts roiling thru my tortured lil peanut brain... I do know I Love my Country and would not be adverse to seein it's tormenters swing from the villige hangin tree... whoever they are.
I guess I'm just plain fediddlein mad as hell. Mad at the terrorists, mad at the isralis, mad at the 'i told yah so' idjits, at the 'peacenicks' the 'talking heads' the media, the government, the UN, the politicians, the spin doctors..
I'd really like things to be like they were before 9/11... back when the biggest visable terrorist threat around here was a buncha teenage tree-huggin vandals messin up new housing devlopments.

I can understand you being mad at all those other things, but why mad at the Israeles. You don't think for a second the Arab nations wouldn't decend on Israel like a horde of locusts without our help? They need us, and we need them. Israel is the United States' only ally in the Middle East, with the exception of possibly Jordan. They (Israel) were going to drop an atomic bomb on Iraq during the Gulf War, but they didn't because we (United States) weren't ready for that. I'm sick and tired of hearing anti-Israel and anti-American sentiments. Thank you.

Nope. They have nukes, and the ARab nations KNOW they would use them. They would NOT descend on them, unless of course they want a glass desert. They don't need our help, but our friendly relationship with the jewish country has created some stability in an already unstable part of the world.
I'm split with the decision..can't break ties with them, but can't get any closer with them either..

As long as Israel is permitted to pursue a policy of enforced settlement on PERVIOUSLY deeded arab lands in Palestine, the 'war' there will go on.
It's about time somebody drew the lines in black in white on the map, and made both sides stick to 'em.
INSTALL THE UN PEACEKEEPERS IN THE AREA NOW. ENFORCE A BUFFER ZONE; INSTALL PEACE IN THE REGION. FORCIBLY IF SO REQUIRED.
I'm sick and tired of the blind acceptance being propagated by americans of jewish descent for Israel's recent return to assinine palistenian policy... just as I am sick and tired of blind and ignorant ethnic Irish support in this country for the IRA in Ireland.
