My Next project I would like to do is the "Scat VII", the P-51D model. It was piloted by Major Robin Olds of the 434th FS, 479th FG.

the p51d at the moment is skined out,maybe skuzzy will rotate the kins but i doubt it

There's nothing really remarkable about that P51D... It's simple BMF with a red rudder. We already have several P51s with red trim, and one has a red rudder and a red swoop on the nose. Close enough, and more distinctive. I say we've already got it.

That plane was based just north of me here in Central Indiana. Unfortunately it went down in February 2003 and the pilot was killed. The plane was a total loss. Jim Shuttleworth was the pilot's name, and he was a very nice guy too. That plane was an actual WWII veteran and was painted in it's WWII colors.
Having said that, go ahead and skin it. Just because some P-51D skins have been submitted doesn't mean that changes cannot be made in the line up. If better skins are submitted I would expect that they would be put into the game.

First of all that plane looks nothing like anything we currently have. Just because something has the same colors somewhere it does not look like something else. Each Group had different markings and everyone should feel free to skin what they want. Let HTC decide what they want in the game.
Heck every darn Luftwaffe plane looks the same to me. :lol

Geez Krusty. Trying to start the revolt? As Fencer says, each fighter group had it's own look. For the 8th AF fans, they'd recognize a 479th bird right away by that look.
Just cause it's not your area of interest doesn't mean it isn't appealing to other folks :)
Now go skin a 109 or something will ya? :)

Plus, HT tries to use skins from as many different skinners as possible. Even though they wont accept absolute junk, I think having different skinners is higher on their priorities then quality. As they say, "Skin them all and let Skuzzy sort 'em out!" :eek:
