Nope no invasion stripes on XVI's EVER.
The pics you'll see are restored Spits with inaccurate paint jobs, or mocked up as earlier marks.

Lol,
Not a question of being mean, HT only allows historical skins ingame, so theres no way in hell you'd squeeze a XVI through with D-Day stripes.

Oh I don't know.  We got planes with the codes backwards and civilian registrations on them.  I think invasion stripes might slip through.

Maybe, maybe not.  They are stricter about the aircraft that have been brought up to AH2 standards.

Well thats because the skin is mirroring..:aok

We will not accept a texture with reversed lettering, which is due to the model.  However, as this is a design deficiency of the older models (some of them anyways), we will accept a model without any lettering or lettering which looks the same mirrored.

Or, you can wait until we get a new model replacement done.

I think by "backwards" they mean it has the wrong part in front of the star/roundel and the wrong part behind the star/roundel. These are technical details, which perhaps the skinner did not understand or know when the skin was made. Please take said issues up with the skinner himself/herself, and don't blame HTC for that. If you know (for a fact) that there is some inaccuracy with a skin please contact the skinner and ask politely if they were aware of this. Some people have to jump through hoops just to get their skin to display properly (I know I had to with an old 109E I did before 2.06). They may know something you don't or they may have had to make a choice and did so.

Keep that in mind.
