Run it for  15 mins or so maybe we can spot somthin in there .

I had a 10% packet loss tonight right at the 'ATTens' IP, right before the HTC MA server.

I constantly see 5-20% packet loss on many of the Dallas ATT servers.

All the downloaded programs need updating regularly.

Instructions for proper install of video drivers.

Pick 1 driver:

Nvidea - http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp - go here and download the drivers to your desktop.

ATI - http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/....x=5&submit.y=4 - go here and download the drivers to your desktop.

Omega tweaked drivers. Recommended by Nvidea and ATI - http://www.omegadrivers.net/main.php - go here and download the drivers to your desktop.

Now get this:
http://www.driverheaven.net - Put it on your desktop

Now install DRIVER CLEANER

Go to add and remove programs and remove all references to ATI or Nvidea.

Restart in safe mode. Usually by clicking the f8 button during reboot.

DO NOT INSTALL ANYTHING if windows asks.

.

Run DRIVER CLEANER. Pick the appropriate filter in the scroll down box AND CLICK THE CLEAN button.

Then restart. DO NOT INSTALL ANYTHING once again. It's ok, all will be well :)

When you reach your desktop click on the driver you downloaded and follow prompts.

Restart..

If you have any problems read the helpfile that comes with DRIVE CLEANER.

What are your computer specs?

If the packet loss is at the last hop, before the server, there is a significant probablity the packet loss is really occurring on the return trip to your computer using a different route.  PingPlots/traceroutes cannot show this problem.
The only way it can be diagnosed is by doing a trace from both the source and destination IP addresses, at the same time.

Silat, great post. I copied it for future reference.

101, I hope your prob. got solved. I had exactly the same symptoms and I tried everything... even blaming 64 bit Windows for my woes. The problem appeared suddenly, close to the same update you are talking about, but that was just coincidence I think. The internet connection panel in AH showed incredible, random spiking. Ping plotter wasn't much help in diagnosing the problem.

The ultimate cause? At the same time as this unfixable warping was happening I noticed that my motherboard was deteriorating after only 4 months of buying it... it was giving me irregular and intermittent bootup problems that got really serious, and it was at this point that the online spiking appeared. It appears that the motherboard's ethernet card was affected somehow. Once a new MB was installed, the problems with Aces High vanished.

I think it was the onboard ethernet card, but I don't know how to test for that. I do know that you can inactivate the onboard card and install a better quality card. I believe that skuzzy has a sticky somewhere in here which mentions appropriate ethernet cards for AH.

I hope this helps.
