aces high is fine in offline mode but if i try to join a h2h room *points to signature* it takes probably 5 minutes to load and as soon as it finishes it gives me "host connection lost" and i click it and i go back to desktop. it did this after i put in my new nvidia 6600 gt instead of my old 4400. there were NO OTHER hardware changes besides that. I WANT ACES HIGH!!!!!. battle field 2 is getting a little old.

Have you disabled firewall and antivirus?
-
i have a router but all that causes is people to not be able to join my room when i COULD play on h2h. i do disable norton antivirus and norton firewall
-
Maybe its a bad cache folder. Try deleting that one.

You should disable all the Norton stuff while playing. What driver are you running on the 6600GT?
-
i dont know what driver i am running but even after i updated it it wont work
what do you mean by a "bad cache folder"?
-
Try removing Norton from your computer entirely. I have seen it where that firewall will interfere with connections, even when it says it is disabled.
And make sure you are running "Version 2.06 Patch 1" of the game.

I meant that sometimes, a bad file in the cache folder can crash your game when it tries to load that file. Deleting that folder will cause AH2 to build a new cache (hopefully flawless) on starting game.

XD my mom was getting freaked out because norton wouldnt even install. it seemed to be a bad download but we eventually got it to install. i havent installed new aces high patches because it didnt work so there wasnt any point in even patching it.

*double post sorry*
GAH! i deleted the cache folder and after it loaded it still died on me. the load also took more than 5 minutes, probably about 8. does it have anything to do with me not updating the AGP slot driver for my graphics card? it was the same driver for my 4400, which performed better than the 6600 at times. does anyone know where i can update the AGP driver for Dells?
-
You say you have not installed the latest version? If so, there is the whole problem. You MUST be on "Version 2.05 Patch 3" or later if you want to play online at all.
-
actually i have looked and it is the latest version. i was thinking it was updated because it never showed the download menu. after i checked it said 2.06 patch 1
-
i have fixed the problem. my graphics card was alergic to any texture size other than 512 no more no less.
