He did not "atone" he never even owned up to killing those peple during the robberies.

I'm reasonably certain that Williams' crimes far outnumbered his convictions.

The important thing to remember is that he wrote children's books. I'm sure that's one of the reasons Jessie Jackson and the gang are attending the service.
