So I'm back flying in the main arena after over a year out of the cockpit. First time flying AH2. Noticed a few changes, a more realistic flight model......as in I spin a lot and I constantly demonstrate Newtonian physics with the effects of inertia thrown in..... as in I fail to pull out of dives quite a lot too.
But one thing hasn't changed. Everybody else is cheating ;) That's a strong statement I know. Well they must be, I now have a broadband connection and a fast computer with a fast graphics card and a cool new joystick. Yet I still lose every fight.
I'm flying a fighter, say a Spitfire. I spy the enemy. We go head to head, I break hard, nothing outturns a Spit heh heh. But bang bang bang my wing falls off. :cry As I gently flutter to the ground, while I watch the beautifully rendered scenery rising up to meet me. I wonder how he could have turned so tightly and got on my tail. A better pilot? No. he's cheating. :noid
Bombers, they're easy prey. Slow and and vulnerable. :) I'll get three easy kills and land smugly at my base and watch the message flash up announcing my heroic triple victory. Then relish the 'WTG' messages from my admiring fellow aviatiors. So I take off and chase some bomber group for hours. Smiling to myself at the other man's terror as he watches the red icon that will be his nemesis closing on his vulnerable formation. Then a mile out he opens up, hopelessly, desperate to stop me. I smile grimly and get ready to despatch him...............Then my tail falls off. Whaaaaaaaat:mad:
As I spin to the ground twenty thousand feet below. I make a plan, bombers, all that armament, all those .50 calibres and a few bombs to drop too. I could soon have enough points to buy an Me262 and be king of the main arena.
I check out in the B24 and off I set deep into the red zone, gleefully trying out all my machines guns. Soon I attract the attention of some ace with glory on his mind. I track him with malice in my heart. He closes in from behind the fool l. :rofl I let him have it. I see a strike or two but he keeps coming and coming............Later as I sit in the ruined remains of my turret watching the strikingly realistic flames curve above me into the blue. I decide to give up flying for good.
GV's are the way to go. The Ostwind. I'm killed more often by Ossies than any other. They are hard to knock out too. How often have I seen people land 14 kills in Ossies. Clearly that is the best route to the cockpit of a 262. So I sit there in my lethal Ossie and wait for trade. Soon it arrives, a Typhoon. We exchange fire. This is easy until bang. bang the main gun stops firing. Damaged:furious Now I'm vulnerable, I swiftly change to the machine gun but it's hopeless. Soon I'm back in the tower, haplessly watching as my conqueror shows off by flying through the hangars in between shooting up the fuel supplies. :cry
You must all be cheating. I couldn't be that bad could I?
:huh

You just started playing??? Yep your that bad right now. My first month or so went the same way. Stick with it...it gets better. Oh those bomber and GV perks you were looking to use for a 262...forget it. You have to use fighter perks for a 262 and you only get those in.......A fighter.
Good luck!!! It does get better, and no one was cheating. Thats just the MA!!!

Lol, thats the funniest post I've seen in a long time
.
-
great post :rofl
-
Have you tried flying supplies yet?
No glory but very important!
-
HeHe, great 'AAR'.
And trust me, i *know* that feeling.
But theres a light at the end of the tunnel.... three of them in fact...... .
;)
Just keep at it, dont give up. And step by the training arena every now and then.
-
Brilliant stuff man
.
Thanks for making a dreary day brighter.

ROFLMAO
First off hook up with a trainer so he can help you understand how that cheating (acm) works.
Then pop into the TA regularly and practise with the other guys who feel the same as you.
Last, this is a massive online flight sim. Everyone dies, yes even Hitech himself.
Leave your ego at the door if it bruises easily, pick yourself up, and try again. :)

Cpxxx you spoke like a true vet !

Very, very fun post :)
IIRC cpxxx, isnt new at all here.
-
:rofl Oh man that is a great post! I feel like that every night I fly! I roll out with a Mossie or 110, get 4 or 5 kills and then right as I start to touch down.....
HOST CONNECTION LOST
I think Skuzzy doesn't like me...... :D

I swear..I think this CP guy has been reading my diary...
Too funny...:rofl

That's the muzzel flashs of the LA-7 cannon. :D

That post was a snapshot of my life in AH.
-
:rofl
I think everybody made this experience in here. I was the first month only a welcme food for the strong player. They eat me and whatever i did, I couldn't prevent it.
But than suddenly i got my first kill (maybe it was a 2 weeks noob)?. And I got some more kills and i tried things out and got more kills and ...
... and now i feel comfortable when meeting enemy at the same energylevel and know many tricks to get out of trouble when i have to.
And the most death aren't loosing 1 vs 1 fights. i get often gangbanged and cherried and vulched like many other good guys.
And when i loose a fight against a LaLA or Spitdweeb while I'm in a 109 or 190 i don't cry. I know everybody can get kills in dweebfires.:rofl
Be sure you will get better and you will become a hunter and not only a fool.

AH2 is alot diffrent than AH 1. HTC have put alot of work in the game to make it as "real" as possable. AH2 takes some getting use to, even I have seen strange things happen, but you have to remember that it is just a game, a PC game at that, a ONLINE PC game at that, people have diffrent setups ( diffrent cpu chips , ram, vid cards, connection types...etc) and all of that reflects diffrent results.
One good ex for me is blasting on a plane with full guns and he doesnt go down??, Then I check my net status and see just at that time I had a net spike (lost packet) and relize thats why the plane still flys.....give it some time, you will get better.
