About $180 on Chris.
Not playing right now - thinking of a way to make money recycling blue tarps.

I had at least one $700+ bill on GEnie....flying 80-100+ hours a month
at $6/hour really stressed that credit card :)
and YE GAD, Shaky Stick....how long have YOU been hanging in these parts??
Hey GE, good to see you!
Anybody seen eyeballs in recent times??

Myself from AW 1996. ATCT then ATC.
(Welcome back GE!!!!!)
-
wow .. no really .. !!
Read thru the other threads ..alla names an memories and years of intense battles, people ..so many truly great times.
Even the Hate :)
I cannot imagine Airmigan looking 'older' than he did at the last Con I saw yas at :)
A few things right off the top of my head..
..Air an I in stangs dancin with a Niki in the BigPac (AW3?) ..neither of us able to generate a viable firing pass, the guy was just too agile to let us pin him down.
.. and him on Ch 1 a bit miffed that he couldn't seem to get a shot at either of us ..had me rollin after awhile.
Here we were .. two on one, prolly more AW stang exp tween the two of us than most could imagine ..I thought he was doin a fine job in defensives ..and he was gettin wired that he couldnt manage to shoot us :)
Felt like danglin a lolly pop just out of a kids reach :)
..Stil above me in his Spit ..and I kept comin up determined to run him outta ammo and finally chase his spit down .. LOL .. and him landin what ..8-9 kills in the short-clip spit?
..wackin Pangloss in his A-26 with my A-26 ..and him on Ch1 'how the heck did you get me!' .. guess I forgot to mention Spec was my gunner ..ROFL!
..Volstag ..Pho an Hoppy ..Krazy Kat ..the heart of the FUBAR.
..Heater, HT, and I goin into N:11 area, 11 bandits there, we keeled them ALL ..and rtb'd B:1
..learnin why Heater was called Heater!!! ( still brings a smile thinkin about it ..after workin the line so many years an seein it happen on the ground, I can just imagine the surprise in the air!!!)
..Lee Lauderback not beleiving I only had 18 hours of dual ..includin the hour I spent in Crazy Horse .. student pilots just dont fly the Stang the way I did I guess .. but .. I have a lot of 'simulated' hours ..really!
..doggin the Az on the deck, Mullah an I in FW-190A-8's no less (half time AW?) ..Pang an his gang uppin half a sector away and wonderin if either of us would get away ..we duo'd the crap outta the constant stream of spits divin into us.. ..finally runnin outta ammo an just flat makin a break with Mullah goin one way an me the other ..an both of us in the pattern landin so many kills ..it was crazy fun.
So many times the fun-meter pegged out :)
Lookin forward to makin some more!
-GE (waves at GB, Brooke, B-man, DD, Fencedweeb, Stil, DoK, ..sheesh ..even 715 ..dood! ..and so many more ..Warriors all :)

Been here just a couple of months, GB...still suck, tho I'm getting there :) Flying with Fencer, Boozer and a few others in the 4th FG, feel free to come wing with us a bit :aok
I think my highest GEnie bill was $800, think that was in '89?
And no, aint seen EB, nor any of the Hams in the air, seen QT yappin in the BB a bit tho. I'ld love to see him and Ho in the air again.
-
Good ole Pangloss ... now there was a dweeb.
-
Holy crap, GE and DD have shown up, too. :)
Howdy, guys! Now we have to get you flying. GE, when are you going to start?
You, too, DD -- even though you said you wouldn't. One of these days, we're going to force you into it.
Air Warrior folks, if you aren't in a squad yet, we'd love it if you join us in the 4th FG. Send Boozer some e-mail using this link:

Releases in the US in Feb.

Like I'm going to give you the satisfaction. Besides, I tried flying with one of those Baby Bjorn thing-a-ma-doodles on. Totally threw off my balance.

I'm not on Bigweek, QT.

Welcome back GE. You will learn to love the P-51 model here. Even have a nice 4th FG 51D Skin done by MachNix and a 51B done by TDeacon.
Hey DeadDuck, Quarters, GypsyBaron, et all
Yeah I miss Pangloss too. What was his sidekick's name? Some kid from NewYork...
-
Brooke: "Start?"
..er .. *cough* .. distributed a few tons of Mustang parts all over the MA map last nite :)
Might be able to get shot down a lot tomorrow nite.
Or .. just auger it while lookin out the back.
Save someone some bullets :)
As for squadrons .. I am still in the Damned.
Without G-man yellin for help 5 sectors away it just isn't quite the same .. still fun buncha guys tho.
Thanks for the warm welcome, Fence.
Would be funny to join the 4th to see how long it took to get kicked out .. again.
Hate is Forever :)
DoK: Man .. it's a shame they don't have the crew from Papyrus doin it with alla high-res graphics toys of today. Those guys were completely dedicated to absolute physics of the nylon-bias tire and 600hp go carts :)
I miss the moggy-GE races at G2 Interactive ..both of us clickin off laps within *hundredths* of the last one ..sometimes right on the numbers ..whoever wobbled out of or into a turn ..*once* ..lost the race.
Was a BLAST!!
I will have to try it when I can ..wonder if I can burn rubber all the way down the Mulsanne Straight :)

I've tried the demo of GT Legends and it's pretty good. The cars aren't as tight as GPL, but they ain't s'posed to be. You should check out the '65 mod for GPL as well ... the cars have, like, traction and stuff.

When we last saw each other, Shaky, I WAS younger...a LOT younger :)
Actually I took retirement at 62...won't hit 65 for another 6 months,

I don't believe it. Back in '87 they didn't have 2nd grade. 2nd grade is a fancy-pants invention someone came up with in '88 or '89 at the earliest, as I recall.

(I didn't join AW until its AOHell days)
Interesting that you guys all had tail numbers. Sounds pretty cool, actually. Why were tail numbers dropped?
-
My recollection is that, in the GEnie days, the system assigned you a tail number, and you picked a handle. Your handle would be shown in the score sheets, but only the tail number was shown in the front end while you were flying. Later, when the front end was enhanced to show people's handles instead of being limited just to a number, Kesmai dropped the tail numbers.

The tough part is when you get your headphone cable tangled up with your colostomy bag.
-
'colostomy bag' ..
Yanno ..I had a patient who wanted a 'designer' colostomy bag to match her dresses, instead of having to put up with the embarrasing moments that can happen when sphincter control becomes an issue.
I had to step out .. not nice to be the Nurse who laughs at her patients.
(almost to tears ..it was just too funny for the moment.. she had coughed and .. er ..well .. I had to clean all the way up to her armpits ok?)
