I have yet to figure out all the programing on the X52. The thumb slider, the 2 dials and the front dial on the throttle and the main ones. I don't use the Saitek program itself, I just set it up in the game and only use one mode.... if you find out, let me know.... as I am too stupid to figure it out! :O

I dont have the X52 but have programmed my x45 to do a simular function.
If possible for the x52 try setting up bands, setup a null from 45-55% then everything above 55% is zoom in then below 45% would be zoom out.
You will just have to return to the null point when your zoom is at the point you want it to stop. It will not be linear.
This is only relevant if the slider has a center notch like the rotary knobs on the x45. If not then the best of luck to you.

Hap,
Use the profiler software. Break the THUMB Wheel into 3 zones.
Zone one is assigned the "[" key
Zone two is assigned to nothing
Zone three is the "]" key.
Twist right zoom in....twist to dent to stop zoom.
Twist left to zoom out....twist to dent to stop.
Same for thumb slider...that I use for map zoom.
Be sure that all wheels and sliders are set to dentent before you launch the profiler, otherwise when you try to launch AH from a shortcut...it will prompt you to DELETE the shortcut!

You don't have to use the profiler at all, just go to select joystick, click on throttle1 in AH function, click Y rotation in joystick input, click set input, click apply, and thats it.

Without the profiler you are only using a fraction of the Saitek potential. You will have the ability to use multiple functions with each button using the profiler. I wouldnt recomend using the stick without it.
I only use the keyboard for typing in game, everything else is on the stick and throttle. :aok

saiteks profile editor
place it in C:\Program Files\Saitek\Software (default location) and then you should be able to open it with the profile editor

Sorry Hap...just got back.
I ment "de-tent" its the slight click you feel in the middle of the thumbwheel range.
I use the Saitek Profiler software. You can download it from the Saitek Website.
