Serenity!
The greatest SCI fi movie ever made! (if your not some girly man into chicks that look like dudes!)
Fantastic Movie!
Fantastic TV
Big Fox for canceling it.
-
Got it today. Cann't wait to watch it. Need to rewatch the seris dvd set.
-
I "pre ordered" it from amazon which was probly a mistake. I thought I might get it earlier but it looks like I won't get it for a week or so.
I seen it at the theater and it was a great movie.
humor, guns and women with nice butts in a wild west space opera...
It don't get any better than that if you like movies..

Picked it up yesterday. Hope there will be more Serenity movies or Firefly TV shows.
-

Great movie!
Hell even the Villian was likeable.
-
may have been hasty about amazon... came home and it was in my mailbox... will watch it again tonite.

It is funny how the Aliance government in the Firefly world is so much like the Socialist nanny state Utopia some want!
-
all forms of evil government have their roots in socialism.

Great movie but... why on earth did Whedon kill Wash?????
It's a shame, such a good movie and they sacrifice a key character. No chance for a 2nd season afterall I guess. I was hoping for a comeback after the success of BSG.

From what I hear it is going to be three movies and if they do well a Series.
As much as I like Wash and the Sheperd, the show is not dead without them.

You have to subscribe for the full article, but the intro is enough to get the point across: Firefly is dead.

I had not read that, just going by what I read before the movie came out.
I was wondering because it didnt do all that well.
Sucks.

He likes to off important characters from time to time to keep the audience guessing. He did it quite a few times on Buffy and Angel. It does suck though, loved Wash and thought he was played well.
-
watched it last night and was impressed by how he tied up the whole series in the movie and stayed faithful to the series at the same time.. It was a little darker than the TV series but that was the way to go I think for the movie.
Nope... don't think this kind of movie that blasts socialism and extorts the individual will do well in a world of shows like battlestar galactica and stargate pap.
People who watch TV want a strong authority figure and a government that gives em free stuff and is benign.

Finally got a chance to watch Serenity.
Wow!
Easily one of the best sci-fi movies ever made.
-
had you seen the show? The movie doesn't do the show's light-hearted atmosphere justice.

Haven't seen it, but it's in my Netflix queue.
-
Yes, but the movie had to cram a lot into the plot and still make it action packed.
But then again, Joss Whedon is a genius. I've heard that Joss Whedon is actually an inventor and made a lot of money ever before stepping into the entertainment industry.

Thanks to you guys on this forum I got into the Sirefly series and saw the movie...twice. THrough my recommendation I got 5 co-workers addicted to it too. Hoping they continue the series or movies.

Retracting my previous post about firefly being dead...
Firefly Season 2 (http://www.fireflyseason2.com/Index.asp)
Hey, it worked before to get Serenity made.
-
Surprised it took you this long to check out Firefly and Serenity, Sandy. I'm afraid the Season 2 link is a lost cause. FOX has a deathgrip on Firefly, literally.
You have a treat in store for you. The series has a LOT more humor than the movie.
He robbed from the rich
and he gave to the poor.
Stood up to the man
and he gave him what for.
Our love for him now
ain't hard to explain.
The hero of Canton
the man they call Jayne...

In all of Whedon's stories, the main characters aren't free from dying.
The story becomes a lot more boring all of a sudden if you know all the main characters (the good guys) are going to be there at the end.
-
I find it very disturbing that sandie and rpm both like the show as much as I do.
I can't believe that they are not rooting for the federal government tho. It seems so peacfull and..... socialist.

It's been at the top of my NetFlix queue since it was released. It took awhile to become available. Rather surprising for a movie that was considered a flop at the box office.
