I am a Field Agent for one of the largest Repossession and Investigations companies in the United States. I do everything from multi-level fraud investigations (auto, boat, motorized toys only), State to State skip tracing (professional people finding) and stealing cars....legally. Great job, great pay, not so great working conditions but 2 outta 3 ain't bad.
AH is a great way for me to unwind and get my mind off of my work. It can be frusterating, fun and scary all at the same time.
Think YOU can hide? :noid
-
IM an unemployed jet mech with 10 years background in avionics who cant find a job paying more than 20 bux an hour...industry gone to watermelon :(
-
Flight Instructor and Contract Pilot. Fly small airplanes and some even smaller airplanes. Favorite is a Cirrus SR22 as a traveling machine. "neatest" was a Focke Wulf P-149D. The one I want in my hangar is a Pitts S1C with various modifications...I suppose I could just say it I want an S1S really :)
-
I knock off qwik E marts, and work as a handyman in the meantime. I don't wear my AH hat, nor do I wear anything that could easily give me away.
-
I'm a test subject for invasive Psychiatric experiments. It doesn't pay very well, but I get alot of job perks, like free electro-shock therapy and meds. It's helping alot too. I hardly ever play with my myself until I pass out in a viscous puddle of my own bodily fluids from dehydration and over-exertion anymore. :huh

-
gigolo;)
-
I dont have a AH hat. I have a AW hat though. I dont wear it at work, but I do on the weekends. I wanted something nice, all I got was a stinking hat. I blame Dose, it was his fault.
-
I was a foreman for a tree trimming crew contracted with the local power company here until I came down with an inner ear infection (Labrynthitis). They don't want a dizzy arborist. So I'm currently staying home raising my three boys ages 1, 4, and 6. Wife had to take on the job front as a care provider at a hospice.
-
Damn..mines not as ineresting as some above. I'm just stinking rich:aok
-
i'm student so unfortunately i don't have any time to work.:D i'm studying microbiology so i get to play with bacteria, fungi and viruses several times a week instead.
I'm proud of my geekiness and all my housemates know of AH. We had a secret santa and someone bought me a model me109 to build. :)
-
Unemployed Jack of all trades with health issues here, so I don't go to work.
I do wear my AH 2002 con cap around the house on special occaisions.
Mostly I prefer my Marvin the Martian hat. (lets me get away with more stuff)
However being in the Trainer Corp you could say that AH is the only job I have left. (Which is just too frickin scary don'ta think?)
-
I own a welding and fabrication shop specializing in gates. we also service and install access control devices. I do play at work from time to time but mostly I troll the bbs. that should be wear instead of were
-
I'm a 1st Class Electronic Technician in the U.S. Coast Guard. I don't have an AH Hat, but I do have a nice golf shirt with my squads (JG44 Night Hawks) logo on it. I wear that into work every now and then when we get to wear civies.
Most everyone I work with knows about the game but they think it s too geeky for them to play. Half of them play war craft or other online games but "A flight sim game online is boring."
If they only knew.
-
i am a coastguard F/A-18 pilot.

I have mine from the 2003 Con, I wear it semi-regularly. The wife used to roll her eyes, but now she'll get it for me. I wore it to the Kalamazoo Air Zoo and it got me 10 minutes (twice) of Full-Motion Sims (instead of 3mins).

Worked in a aircraft refurbishing shop for 18 months straight out of HS. It was a cool job, stripping and repainting planes and choppers (such as Geraldos and the Duke University helicopter, my name is actually on it so look closely at an episode of E.R., and a Texan, that was cool) Then went to the Newburgh Auto Auction, started in the body shop, now I'm basically an insurance adjuster there, I inspect the incoming cars for mechanical problems, frame damage, previous repairs and existing damage.
They use that info to set the floor price of the vehicles, I'm a car nut and I get to ride around in everything from Mack trucks, to atv's, anything in between. We've even had a Ferrari from Tommy Hilfigers collection, Lambroghini's etc etc. In my spare time I occasionally do custom paint work like motorcycle helmets and the such.
Best part is we're directly across from Stewart ANG base and Stewart airport, I get to watch low level C-5A and C-130 flights daily, and the occasional fighter or two. Saw a B-17 and B-24 this year, last year I had a birds eye view of the Blue Angels practicing for our airshow for a week straight, and we even had a B-2 come in for a ceremony, officially naming it The Spirit of New York. The place is so big it's a designated Shuttle emergency landing strip.
Sorry for the long post, but it's a great place to work for a car/aircraft buff :aok

I build and inspect bombs/munitions in the Air Force. Got my AH, Squad and Rangoon one sewn on my camel-back when I was deployed the first time to Qatar/Iraq. Alor of questions asked by the by the door gunner on my trip to Balad! :rofl
-
I don't have an AH hat.
I am a test manager here (http://www.nawcwpns.navy.mil/~pacrange/r1/Land1.htm). We test aircraft and weapons. Up until six months or so, I used to work here (http://www.nawcwpns.navy.mil/~pacrange/r1/Ecr.htm). I've been doing this sort of work for the past 14 years.

you have to "host" the picture somewhere on the internet.
there are picture hosting services out there...
once you have uploaded the picture you need the link to it.
you then put [ IMG] http://whereyourpicis.com/whatever/yourpic.jpg [/IMG ]
(but no spaces in the [ img ])
there's an example
qoute this post by me, then look at how it is layed out

I restored warbirds after college up in Windsorlocks CT. Couldn't find a decent job other then CFIIMEI crap and construction in NYC for a few years. Got type 1 diabetes before graduation and commissioning. Taught for a year at University of Illinois flying and physics. Moved back home - taught for another year. Got drafted to move out to California back in July 04 by a civi DOD group - started as an analyst - doing PM stuff with off grid power conversion for soldiers and vehicles, and network architecture that's agnostic to the data sourcing. Appointed to be the 'Flag LT' for a 2 star ret RADM w/ 2 gold stars in lieu of promotion former CO of BB-64 USS Wisconson during Gulf War 91.
My boss and 2 co-workers are in my AH squad. He flies 190s - I fly 47s. I have lots of screen shots up on my wall. He was a Hornet Head with a handicap sticker on his tail. I was a rotorhead with TOW's and Hellfires.
I'm still a poor 25 year old with a loving wife. But I still think Aces High and Twizzlers are more addictive then crack.
Cest la vi.

I'm a distribution service tech for Duke Power. I've just finished working the 2005 ice storm here in the Carolinas. I've just spent 7 days working 16+ hours each. It's time for bed and I find myself reading posts on this board. Can this be considered an addiction?

Ford HVAC stuff is teh suck, ain't it? Crap like this and evap cores on Escorts/Tempos/Tauruses, etc etc etc was a big part of me deciding to hang the wrenches up a few years ago. I constantly wanted to find an auto design engineer and castrate the bastard....grrrr.
When I quit that I was (well, the certs are still current, so I guess I still am) an ASE Master auto tech, self-employed as a shop owner/operator for 18 years with about 6 years of dealership service management experience before that.
Then I decided my life needed change. After a couple of years of floundering around trying a couple or three different things, I ended up going to wotk for the local newspaper, where I now manage retail sales. Its a real grind but a great company to work for with people I can actually like and respect both up and down the chain of command from me. If having to have a job is a given, that's not a bad place to be.
The only thing I can think of that I'd rather do is teach school, but I don't know if I'd be willing to take the pay cut to do it - that's a bridge that will have to be examined if the opportunity comes up :)

I have been away from my job for a few months now. Debating if I am going back to the same clinic or not. I am a Veterinary Technician. Was nice to stay home for the most of the summer and real nice not to have to drive everyday in this cold/snow. Come spring if I am not back at the clinic I spent the last five years I will be at a closer local clinic. Although I could do this homemaker thing for a while ... heh eh!! I do not own a AH hat yet. I did buy one for the hubby when I used to be wife ack and he wears his in the summer not to burn his precious bald head ... :)

wow...yall have some really interesting jobs. mine is boring but easy. we do modular home finish sets. modulars come in 2 boxes, when they r put together on the foundation, we go in and finish the "marriage" line. that is where both boxes meet. we do drywall, paint, trim and sometimes siding facia, soffit, and the crossover betweeb the boxes. i have 36 modular home dealers that i work with in michigan. been kinda slow this year, but it will get better here shortly. i have sub contractors that work for me, i set up the job, they go do it.
i have a saying " works smart not hard "

I have a AH hat from the 2000 con but have never worn it.
I have probably the lowest paying job that requires a coat and tie; I’m a Catholic school teacher. I work with a bunch of women and kids; no real chance to discuss things like AH at work. I did wear-out my tee shirt around the house though. I have talked up AH to dozens of people that I have met and known. I’m only sure of 3 or 4 that I definitely recruited.
