When Chihuahuas attack
Police officer treated for ankle bites

FREMONT, California (AP) -- A pack of angry Chihuahuas attacked a police officer who was escorting a teenager home after a traffic stop, authorities said.

The officer suffered minor injuries, including bites to his ankle, Detective Bill Veteran said.

The five Chihuahuas escaped the 17-year-old boy's home and rushed the officer in the doorway Thursday, authorities said.

The teenager had been detained after the traffic incident.

The officer was treated at a hospital and returned to work less than two hours later.

The little rodents can be ruthlesly punted. Only football I ever kicked 50 yards came running right back, yapping and snapping it's viscious intentions the entire way.

Little bastard got the message on the second punt.

I once made a trip from San Diego to Panama on a 28 ft. Ranger sloop with a friend and his rotten little yapping chihuahua. No offense Eagle but after that last can of spam he started hiding below alot. He noticed how I was looking at him.

That poor cop is never going to live that down...  I bet his fellow officers are going to tease the crap out of him for at least a month.  Mailman jokes, cans of dog repellent in his locker, offers for K-9 assistance, soccer shinguards presented during daily briefings...

my uncle has a chi-dog and the little gomer, whenever he was let out in tall grass, had to be carried back in because he could no longer move.  it was a nasty little rat anyway, but it sure could sing.

Yep those things that happen tend to make a lasting reputation. Those that are the most embarrassing last the longest too. There were a couple guys on my old department that were well liked but had "things" happen that they had to live with through out their entire career. Both had a great sense of humor fortunately.

There's no such thing as a bad chihuahua, only bad owners.
