I was reading this interesting thread by 'your customer' and wanted to relate my views but found it locked. How very Chinese.
WW2 Online has been developing their game for over TWO YEARS now, and all that we have seen from them is a beta in which we had a choice of a very few aircraft, some tanks, and a ground soldier.
That's a very valid point and from the day of the NC move, one that has concerned me! Why? Because (censor) (censor) and that was the reason.
Most of us realized that what Mo was trying to do was a big big job using the PC power available at the time. Conceptually Mo was on target but technically it was considered to large a leap to recover the investment unless he could find some help somehow. At the time I remember suggesting the use of independent developers to help construct some of the models. As you may know there are some 40000 independently produced files at Flightsim.com of planes for MSFS and this concept was just introduced by 'Targetware'.
However, at the time a took a verbal lashing by this thick community that Mo didn't need any help. So ok, no help offered. However, I want to add the posts so that we can all remember what we said about it at the time.
RASTER
Yes, this game has the best idea's I have ever seen. Unfortunately, your
graphics make my visual cortex sick to die. Listen dumbo's, there are 100's
if not 1000's of free lance modelers in ever field who would do better work
for Free! Yer just killen yourself by not let'n them help.
Raster, say's he couldn't care less.

a) They've got some of the best modellers in the field, who've got an
education and degrees to prove it. They aren't fresh off the high school
art class boat, they are hardended veterans.
b) How many 5000-polygon models do you expect your computer to handle
on-screen at one time? Uh-huh. Now factor in bandwidth. Good. Now
factor in the terrain. And now factor in download time. Very good.

This is more hilarious than organized cult religions.
Please explain to us your knowledge of how a massively-multiplayer player

Don't even bother trying to use logic or common sense or even civility with

Good news is, he *will* go away once WWII online goes pay. Of course,

The boys at HTC have the amazing ability to build a sim, while you are playing it. This must the equivalent of working on a car while someone drives it down the road. The last couple of patch's prove it is not done without pitfalls. But somehow they always manage to pull it out. This is a trick that has alluded other sim developers IMO.
-
Whew!
Tried really hard to find the point of your post, and I must say, like the originator of the locked thread, you seem to lack a cohesive point.
So WWIIOnline may be vaporware.
So you were outright rejected in your suggestion to utilize player-generated graphics.
So you posted several excerpts of CR BBS banter for us to read.
Question: What are we supposed to do with this information? I can easily see why this thread or any like it would be locked- the only thing that can happen is either we start knocking on CR or knocking on you, and neither is going to be very productive, is it?
Not a flame, but I am a little confused as to what kind of response you are wanting...
-
Guess what, when you start a thread by insulting the works of others, and by calling those people names, they don't seem very responsive to your ideas. Yeah, your "interesting views" are very constructive.
Next time you eat at a place and they tell you they don't take credit cards, why not say to the owner, "Hey amazinhunk, 90 percent of Americans have credit cards! We should at least be able to charge this gut-wrenching slop!"
BTW plurals do not take apostrophes.
-
I agree 'easymo'
The boys at HTC have the amazing ability to build a sim, while you are playing it.
Mr. Daddink has somehow been able to program a complete online game in a remarkably short time. Considering it is not just programming but research as well as advanced mathematics, his teachers need to be praised. Did the USA land on the moon, did HT create ACE's High?
Kieran I read you have made 100's of posts Tried really hard to find the point of your post, and I must say, like the originator of the locked thread, you seem to lack a cohesive point.
I easily understood the orinators post, perhaps you could start listening more and writting less. It's that simple.
Dinger.. "Hey amazinhunk, 90 percent of Americans have credit cards!
Firstly watch your language. Secondly, I stand corrected on my writting error. Thirdly, at the time I thought the only way to get attention was to stimulate the lower part of the brain. I wanted WW2online to be a success and when I saw the graphics I could have cried. With outside help working for free the sim would be finished sooner and better. Most sim developers are allowing the users to do terrain/and skins now. Why not get involved at the beginning, bring the costs down, the quality up and the schedual forward. Time will prove me right.

What specifically are you wanting us to do about your perceived problem with WWIIOnline? Why is this brought here? Even if everyone agrees with you, how does that change a thing at CR? How professional is it of HTC to allow you space to rail against a competitor? See what I mean? You even manage to start this thread with a racial slur- and according to the TOS (assuming you fly AH) that is enough to get you in some hot water.

I've been away from AH for a long time. When I digup a faster PC I'll be back. However, there is such a thing as being overly sensitive and I friggen hate the cheats which are everywhere. As such, it can get very frustrating to sort the really god like from the code altered opportunists and after a few years there is no way to prevent eventually loosing it on an open channel.
However, I am unsure what Nuttz is on about, but it does seem like the younger players are having a laugh at civility and I would like to remove all the under 18's from the game.
My point about underage players and overly sensitive squelchers begins with my getting this Email from WB's

Dear Warbirds Player:
iEN is committed to the Warbirds community. Part of what makes Warbirds so
great is the community spirit. Given the fact that it's a combat

I've had complaints that you've been abusive to another player in the arena.
Including some inappropriate remarks to his 12 year old niece. This is
unacceptable. Everyone is welcome to play in the arena to relieve some

You even manage to start this thread with a racial slur- and according to the TOS(assuming you fly AH) that is enough to get you in some hot water.
Perhaps the reason you can't and will not allow "your customer" to make their point is because you are reading in things that clearly are not there.

I understand what Raster is trying to say, he's got a weird way of saying it but I would have to agree with him, although i don't agree with his tactical way of saying it.
In a nutshell...
AW: would of been gone YEARS ago if not for SAC, SAC breathed new life into AW for years.
WWiionline: 'Beta" shots are just terrible. I never said this on ANY board because they are beta and I have no clue what the final product will look like. BUT, 2 years of waiting gets people angry and the longer they wait the more they expect. I ( and when i say I, that just my oppinion) think people will be disappointed in the graphics. Although I still wait for it eagerly.
AH: well everyone knows where i stand with this.

Yes it could be read as a racial slur if you have a reading comprehension problem keiren.
Assigning a racial name to an action you don't like is a racial slur. Kieran is not making that up. You seem to be oblivious to your own offenses.
And, Keiren you should open your eyes? Last I looked in the general posts "Kawasaki Ki-61-I ?" you made two posts there both at 171 count and again everywhere else.
And if you look at your posts, you'll see that they all say the same number too. UBB re-builds this page every time you view it. In doing so, it assigns your current number of posts.
If your counter is hacked not to count how can I know how many posts you made and I am correct, hundred's is how many posts you have made you dumbo.
I bet you don't have a single mirror in your house. If you did, you'd be able to see that these accusations are more self descriptive than anything else.
However, TOS or no TOS AKseawulfe made a threat of physical
LOL! He didn't threaten you. He suggested a cure for your problem. I don't believe he said "I am going to kick your ass". Talk about reading into someone's post.
BTW.. I think SW was right on the mark with what is needed here.

Ah.. the anonymoty of the web is such a beautiful thing. You can act all tough without having to back any of it up. You go raster you tough guy you! You keep saying this stuff long enough and you'll actually start believing it yourself.
My point, this was "your customer's" post. I wanted to see if it was truely a dead issue and this is the O'Club. I don't know who 'your customer' is, but to enflame an angry post by a lock is just plane stupid when you have no idea in hell who the person was.
I don't believe that thread was locked in the O'Club.. much like this one hasn't been. It was locked in the General Forum because that is for discussions about ACES HIGH.. you know... the game.
My favorite part is where you seem to think that us not knowing who it is has any relevance in the situation. As a matter of fact, the anonymoty speaks for itself. Cowards post that kind of drivel under psuedonyms. The lock, however, would have occured regardless. It was intentionally inflamatory and in no way shape or form related to Aces High.
And with that, I'll let you get back to your regularly scheduled insult festival.

IF China wants to censor the truth and come out bluntly with absolute nonesense about an encounter they had with the USA..then I am gona add my 2 cents that their policies are friggen laughable to the point of being dangerous. Next time, start with a premise, use a *few* quotes to support it and then conclude. It makes for much easier reading, and people won't have wade through an ocean of waffle before lambasting you. Moreover, do not begin threads with racial slurs - it really doesn't add to your credibility.
Looking at this thread and the one taken from over at WW2OL, it would seem you have a talent for generating contempt - is that a gift or is it something learned by experience?

FWIW I didn't enter into this thread looking for a fight- I was looking for your point. I can glean that you are upset that the "Your Customer" thread was locked, you didn't seem to think there was a reason to do so, and that you perhaps think WWII Online is vaporware mainly because the programmers are overworked and perhaps would have been wise to use the community expertise in the area of artwork.
Let's assume you are right in every single one of the concerns I listed above. What is it we need to do or discuss about it? In my opinion the thread was locked largely because it appeared to be an incoherent rant on WWII Online placed on an HTC server. Frankly I am happy to see something like that get locked right away- what purpose is there in allowing people to come in here and spew about another company's product (from HTC's perspective)? It looks very unprofessional, and divides the communities to boot. Haven't we had enough diviseness on all the boards?

RASTER,
Please save yourself the humiliation and stop posting on this board or at least change your name.
You proved yourself too dumb (in clinical terms, I am not trying to be offencive here) and inexperienced to understand how the post counter works on the bulletin board.
Instead of doubting yourself for even a moment, thinking a little bit, may be experimenting or even just asking someone, you started accusing the board of not functioning properly and people of hacking.
Believe me, after that no one is going to be interested in your opinion on anything.

-
Miko2D, Mighty1, Dowding, the problem here is that a few posters patrol these BB like trolls hurling polemical insults and accusations while hardly once relating to the topic of the post.
The problem maybe that I really gave a damn how cowards like yourselves perceive freedom of expression, although perhaps my problem is I am hardly offended by adults who play childrens games and who are elated when they can abuse children on a BB.
The point 'your customer' made is valid and indicates the need to feel validated by seeking like minded individuals on a independent BB.
However, rather than encourage, align, guide and befriend, the same old friggen trolls shot the bugger to hell and lost whatever relationship could have developed..BANG. Now you will tell me so what and expect me to explain it.
I feel the producers of these childrens games are big headed enough without groupies praising every fart they make. I stand in what I have said, the arena's are full of cheats, the graphics stink, sim communities which contribute work to the greater success of the program are to be preferred and the Chinese are responsible for the death of their own pilot.

I can see this has degraded into yet another flame war. But I would like to point out something else, amazing that HT does.
With no particular loss of eyecandy, HTC keeps the system requirements to a reasonable level. The argument over at brand W is that we would all still be playing wireframe on a 386 if not for upgrades. What these people seem to be missing is that you could not do much of anything on a 386. On the other hand my over clocked celery is more than adequate to do EVERYthing else I do with a computer. Spending hundreds of dollars to do just one thing (sim) just is not logical. As far as home computing go's I think we have hit the point of diminishing returns. And I think HT is one of the few to recognize this.
I know there are many of you that love computing and will always be pushing the envelope. This is a good thing and I would not discourage it for obvious reasons. Also business applications will always need to be pushing the edge. But for home use. lets face it, how fast do you need that porn (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
My old computer can process as fast as the internet can feed it to me. So the next step is faster speed and improved latency on the connection end. When that outruns my computer then I will need an upgrade.

BTW, as for abusing children on a BB (eh?), it seems strange for you to say that. Considering you have admitted being officially warned for verbally abusing a 12 year old girl while online. An achievement to be proud of.
Now listen, the story is that when I tried to explain to the community of WB's what was happening, Kent East removed my posts off the BB and removed me from the board.
The truth of the matter? I was playing online from 2am to 4am EST. Odd then that a 12 year old would be at their uncles playing online on a week night at those times and honestly I was only in the AC arena. At those times there were only about 5 players maximum at any time. I don't recall saying anything that merits that kind of response. However, other players were! One named 'bramal' on several nights took every opportunity on the chat box radio to start in the "Raster sleeps with 12 year old girlds and the like." Perhaps someone read the messages names wrong. I am not sure.
You may not enjoy adult banter as much as me but their TOS states no children. However and as you have said yourself, IEN would not have sent me the Email unless I was convicted, tried and sentenced of something very bad. Problem is I have no idea what. When I checked with the other players, of which I could find only a few, they also had no idea. Had it been on the BB then the redness of the true salamander might have been illuminated and KENT EAST was not gona let that happen cause he was probably behind it.

This had to be the most boring thread in ages. Its not informative, not funny and not even a good flamewar.
I just spend 10 minutes for reading this when I could spend that time more productive way (=scratching my balls).

Now listen, the story is that when I tried to explain to the community of WB's what was happening, Kent East removed my posts off the BB and removed me from the board.
So, just how many boards have you been banned from, had threads locked in or had threads removed from? It doesn't seem like its all that unusual for you... as shocking as that may seem.
This is definately one of those situations where the its not really the rest of the world's fault.

I killed two birds with one stone... used my scrolling wheel on my mouse to go down the page and my left hand to scratch myself.
Talk about efficiency man...
