Title: Oldman.....
Post by: Larry on January 03, 2006, 02:30:49 AM
May I ask you to change the settings one more time? Since you fixed the downtimes there has been some milking going on. Yeager and I just had to fight off three midnight milkers from talking LWs last southen base. I recommend seting the auto ack to CT norm .7 and leave downtimes the way they are that way if someone wants to take out the puff ack it wont pop back up 2 seconds later. Man'd ack mabey could be set with a down time of 1sec. incase vulching is going on it will be stoped reall fast. Or VB milking you can stop the troops. And last town buildings mabey hardened and pop up in say 5mins if that. This map is so little that even 2-3 bases milked screws up the fights.

I'd like to hear some discussion of this.

*sigh*

Thanks for pointing this out, TK, I just reset the countries, reloaded the tables, and reset downtime multiplier way down.  Obviously we have people who have too much time on their hands and not enough respect for others.

I'll invite the other staffers to fuss with the different settings in hopes that we can preserve base capture without allowing arena porking.

Thanks again.

Are "STANDARD SETTINGS" still used for all maps, across the board, like we used when I was on the CT Crew?

Have they changed or are they suited to each individual set-up?

It was, TK, good guess.

Will set it back when I can wrest the good computer away from the boys.

Haven't noticed anything by that name, Jester, although I suppose the hardness and down time settings are probably the same as MA.

Didn't really have a name on the board. They used to be in a "Sticky" on the CT Staff Private Fourm if I remember right.

Ack, target hardness, downtimes, numbers of troops to capture, fuel burn, etc., all used to be set pretty much the same across the board. I used to fool with the fuel burn and troops to capture to try to add to accuracy now and then. Only time other factors were changed was when we had a huge map like the old ETO when distance was a factor.

Just curious how things were set or was it just up to the staffer who's turn in rotation it was.

! :aok

I noticed 6,000 lb wouldn't take down a VH.  4x250kg x 3 with fairly tight pattern.

Krusty he admited to it last night. He said he was taking the bases becuase noone was defending them. I told him mabey they were fighting. I dont know anyone who leaves the MA to come into the CT to defend thier bases. They come there to fight w/o the trouble of that stuff.

And back awahile him and his squadies used to come in when KS was off and take turns killing each other in GVs.
