the 38 would depress anyone...
try a ride with one engine or try CT when they have a 38 in a setup, like this week
problem with MA is that you can't enjoy 3/4's of the planes in it due to its setup....only decent time is around 7am est when there maybe 100 in it

I too have not been playing as much recently. The new net code is bit wacky and my squadmates have not been on much as of late. I've been playing LOMAC and BF2 to fill the void.
However I'll keep paying my dues to support the best dang gaming company I've ever known. I know they'll fix the current connection issues and I'll be back in full swing when TOD is ready.

I've never been one to wear "shades" and won't be starting now.
Like some one mentioned earlier, can't just put my finger on it but I no longer get the "rush" that one would often get. The game started to feel like a routine and that's when I felt it was time to step back for a bit. Will I be back? Probably, but not for the near future. Maybe in a few tours the lure of my twin tailed mistress will be too great and I fall for her siren song.
to everyone...it's been a definite E ticket ride. And despite the whiners, HiTech and gang has made one hell of a game.

It will only take a few sit downs of watching vintage war bird film to get you itching to log in a fly. I enjoy the game, but I enjoy it because I love war birds. In my free time spent at a computer, if I am not playing the game I am downloading films, flight manuals, pictures, god knows what... you name it... If it has to do with a war bird I will pick through it. When I get tired of the game, i do that, when I get tired of doing that, I go play for a bit.
I take alot of mini breaks now 2-3 days, 5 days, a week... When before I would play for 6-8 months on end and then get fed up/burnt out and not come back for a couple months. I think i've found a way to keep everything freash and fun and interesting. Also I have a good bunch of retarded squadies to fly with. That always helps.

Grab a pony and start to fly between trees with 450 knots,
hunting and be hunted. To death.
Adrenaline will be back to the normal (Top) Levels. Guarandeed :)

That or grab a 38G and come furball down in the weeds like I do. You may die a lot, but it's a heckuva lot of fun :)

The best thing you can do is to come back in shades and re-learn exactly why you are in AH to begin with... seriously AKAK, don't leave, just go incognito for a bit, it will help.

Yup, before you grab a cannon ball and go over the side, come try out the CT for a couple of weeks. Can't get too bored with any one plane because we keep changing them.

I am not sure how a shades account will make the game more fun????
I am waiting for the next patch, where I hope the rubber bullets go away. And maybe some FM changes are made. Neither of these will happen if I get a shades account.
A shades account will not do any of the following:
Make the rubber bullets go away.
Give the 109s flaps.
Give the 109s proper frontal views.
Make the 190s as maneuverable as they were in real life.
Unperk the C Hog
Unperk the -4 Hog
Turn the TA152 into the real monster it was or unperk it.
Unperk the Spit14
Give us a fighter town on most maps.
And most and foremost of all, as a shade, I wouldn't be flying with my beloved AK's. I am within days of my eighth year as an AK. I play with them in AH and in WOW. I tell you, that I don’t miss AH anywhere’s near as much as I miss my AK buddies in here. But in WOW, I have Curly, and Moe, and Nimitz, and DDT, and SheWolf and SkyNymph, and Iron, and Cranky and the list goes on. Almost every one of those flew in AH at one time or another.
Why would anyone other than a score potato have a shades account?
I waste my time. :(
I am in WOW now, and come back to lurke the BBS now and then to see if the next patch is coming, or if anything has changed.
Believe me, if I wasn't sitting in a motel room in Kodiak, AK... I'd be online, playing WOW, but I haven't loaded it on my laptop.
I just may go out and see if they have a copy in one of the local stores.

So I have hardly made a drive by with no proof. I have several films of bombers taking massive amounts of hits from 20mms and 30mms with no damage. This is a real problem for some of us. I hate bouncing 30mms and 20mms of a fighterw wing, and not even getting an aleron. I really don't find it fun to take off in what is for all purposes an unarmed airplane.

And notice that I didn't say I was quitting the game, but that I was going to quit flying until the next patch. I play for fun not frustation.

God, next time ill contact my lawyer before posting, someone might find a glitch in my post that *could* be interpreted in a certain way that is annoying or maybe not in complete concurrence to the experiences of another player. And in OClub ive learned thats soon to be a federal crime..... :huh

maybe god hates you and loses all your packs when you shoot..
I dont know..just doesnt seem like such a problee for the majority here

So your rationale is that if a majority of the players don't have a problem with rubber bullets, then is isn't a problem for those who blast a fighter with cannons and 30mm guns and nothing happens??

Morph talked about taking some mini-breaks. Hell, I only fly once a week, maybe, and by Friday night i can hardly wait for 2100 to roll around. (I usually get on the game then) I can't imagine playing the game everyday or even everyother day. I would be afraid that I would tire of it, and I like it way to much to risk that. (hope that makes sense):huh
just remember, absence makes the heart grow fonder! In the mean time, there will be one less 38 to watch out for.
I wonder how many imitators there will be, you know, someone flying a 38 coming in from somewhere near 50,000 ft. J/K:aok

The rubber bullets aren't all the time. Sometimes I get really good hits. Then I dive down, hammer a bogey, hit sprites all over with 20mms or bigger, and there is zip for damage, not a part flies off. 30 seconds later, he gets blown to bits by someone else, I watch him paracute, and I don't even get an assist.
Or I sit on the tail of a bogey, hammer away with 20mms and or 30mms, and nothing happens, not a part flies off. I break off my attack to get alt, and then some dude in a 50 cal rig, takes the bogey out, parts flying everywhere, and I get an assist.
This all started for me about patch 2.4 (maybe 2.3)
I am just hoping we get it sorted out in the next patch.
Until then, I'm probably not going to fly.
And no, I don't have a shades account.
