Today I was expecting to come home and find my new R/C airsoft tank on the back step. But instead all I found was snow. I went online and checked my tracking status. It only showed the origanal time it was put into the system on Dec. 29th. So I called customer service to make sure make package still existed. Lady on the phone says that they lost all the tracking numbers and status. Now when I say all I mean for every single package in the U.S.A. and more. This started on Dec. 21st. She also said that they cant catch up considering the packages just keep coming in. She told me that I will get my package anytime this afternoon to weeks from now. Some people may not see changes and some will see long waits.
Somebody made a booboo.

My feet were nowhere near their power cords. I swear it.
I figure I best make this post before being accused.

I've had packages do some pretty retarded things with them. I had one that I tracked to Detroit (nearest big city), and then the next day it was in FL or TX or someplace way the hell out there. The next day it came back through Detroit before being delivered. Whoops. :)

you know you do have the option to go up to the nearest FDX station and have them look for it or go up to the FDX at your Airport and have them look for it
Fedex is very busy during the holidays especially during the month of December,December is what the people at FDX call peak so a few lost packages are expected its just that you were 1 of the unlucky 1's

At least yours will eventually get to your house, I had a package ups'd here and it went to the same address as mine but the street was different, If I have something Fedex'd here, I get the same thing. the only people that come here delivering something is the pizza man, and he's supposed to be going to the address that my packages go.

I have family that work for UPS. And yes Raider I do know that, thats my trip if it isnt here by monday.
-
Be glad it was not DHL. Those dumb bastages delivered my bumper to the wrong address and then told me to **** off, I must be lying because the driver said he delivered it to the right place.
3 days later I saw it on a vacant condos porch.
Fedex has always been good to me.

I have an airsoft tank too! Thing actually shoots pretty hard. I mounted a mini wireless cam to the barrel and bust it out at parties. Sit on the couch watchin through the TV with a bunch of friends hootin and hollerin and shootin unsuspecting people in the a**.
My buddy got one too. The idea being to have remote battles viewed only though the camera. Only problem is you can't see if you actually hit what your aiming for.

From my point of view DHL is severely lacking in ability.
I provide 24/7 hardware support for rack mounted servers in large data centers.
My call outs basically come in two flavours:
A) "ITS DOWN, how fast can you get here?" For these types of calls we have two ware houses full of parts and couriers contracted to supply us with those parts within 1 hour of placing the parts order. Simple, but expensive.
B) "Its still running, we need to schedule down time" Normally, we'd order these parts as over night deliveries from UPS. However DHL has been chosen as our new "over night" delivery company. DHL has proven so incompetent, that if the part is needed for tomorrow night, we order it from the local warehouse. {so much for saving money w/ DHL}
UPS had an 8am delivery option, which was really handy. Other wise they guaranteed it by 10:30am. DHL, 'guarantees' next day deliver by noon. I think they need to insert a strong "Maybe" in that 'guarantee'.
To date, their most entertaining 'over night' delivery was handed to them on Monday 9/12/05 at 11:00AM est, I received it Friday 9/16/05 at 19:30 est. :huh

Thants why you get an IR laser battle system for it man! I'm doing some mods to mine, going to put a passive ir cam in the turret periscoped out the FLIR aperture. Then I'm going to install a nonvisible ir laser in the turret for targeting.
I just got back from an outdoor night test drive with an active ir cam mounted externally and my DC wireless setup outside. Was pretty cool but can't see very far.
My iguana hates it! Probably because I chase him around with it. Looks funny on my portable TV screen. I wouldn't chase him if he wouldn't run!
Yeah fedex is the suck. "Oh your package has reached your city, but it's going to set in our office for four days because it's not scheduled to be delivered untill four days from now. And no you can't come to the office and pick it up."

Any delivery service is hit and miss these days. Had something delivered off ebay from CA to NC through USPS. Dec. 30 I was notified a shipping label had been created. Jan. 6 the thing still said the same thing, so I emailed the seller and was damn near ready to revoke my payment. I checked the mail that day and there it was. That night the "Tracking" changed: Delivered. Real handy fluff'n tracking service, I can tell when it might have been shipped and after I get it. Lord help me if it gets hung up in the middle. Don't get me started on the mandatory "Insurance" I paid for on E-bay that the seller decided not to include.

If you're handy with a circuit board and solder, here's a DIY IR battle system web site.

As a FedEx driver of the 3k or so pakages I delivered last month 99.99% were successful deliverys and the one that wasnt, the people had moved.

My first, and hopefully LAST, experiance with DHL was an overnight delivery from 53 miles away that took 2 weeks to arrive. The freaking 3rd class mail is faster than DHL overnight.
-
DHL is better in Germany I think then over here, Biggest mistake I remember over there was I was working on a holiday sunday, and this pakage came in overnight, holiday, before 10am delivery to us. Only problem was it was a Berlin-Berlin parcel, and I worked in Hamburg.

Depends on your definition of cheap.

That Hank movie?

The delivery systems for some of those companies can seem whacky. If i sent my neighbor a package UPS, it would likely be sent to Kentucky before coming all the way back to him. I think they send it to their main point and start from there.

Most packages for UPS go through Louisville, KY if they are air shipments. UNLESS they are shipping within your state/region. They then go through your regional/state hub. Here in Alabama all packages for overnight delivery go through Montgomery if they are outside your local area.
