Idaho (BB24)
-
It's either the Greek Kilkis or the Lemnos. Both the Mississippi and Idaho were sold to Greece as the USN built new battleships. Both were later sunk or badly damaged during WWII when caught in drydock and the harbor at Salamis in 1941.

Don't think it's the Mississippi (or Lemnos). The Mississippi had gun blisters on either side of the bow just forward and below the #1 Turret and a single hause pipe at the main deck level on the bow (above the main anchor). Idaho has the two openings on the bow and doesn't have the gun blister. While it certainly could have the forward hull guns removed at some time, the physical removal of the blisters and addition of the second opening is unlikely. Looks like Idaho, or if after 1914 the Kilkis. Would be nice to be able to make out the flag to know for sure. It doesn't appear to have stripes as both the US and Greek flags have.

It didn't take long to dig up what we need on the history.navy.mil site.

Widewing scores!
Quite a difference without the lattice forward mast. Noticed also that they removed the filagre on the bow which led to me wonder what an Iowa class BB would look like with filagre and the Great White Fleet paint job (white hull, gold filagre and trim, beige topsides)....probably pretty awesome.

GREEK BATTLESHIP LEMNOS it is.
Congrats! :aok
Greek Battleships KILKIS (Ex-USS Mississippi) & LEMNOS (Ex-Idaho) were sold to Greece soon after they were built as the USN was changing over to "Dreadnought" type battleships. They were the last Pre-Dreadnought BB's in the USN.
Both were sunk in the Harbor of Salams by Stuka Dive-Bombers during the German invasion of Greece during 1941 as seen in the picture below:
