I just bought a copy of photoshop CS 9.0. And while I am familiar with the basics of graphics editing software, this thing looks like a monster. I want to design a website dedicated to inshore and offshore fishing in the Central Florida area. Would the video professor, available on line, be good enough to get the most from this software? I also have Dreamweaver and Frontpage, I don't need much help with these, but are they compatable with photoshop?

As for compatibility with DreamWeaver or Frontpage, you can save images that can be used by either application (JPEG, GIF, PNG, etc.). If you're expecting some sort of integration between Photoshop and DW or FP, don't bet on it.

FWIW, I stopped upgrading at PS6.

as far as photoshop integrating with dreamweaver and frontpage?  Not sure about dreamweaver but here's how I design a site.

First I make the template.  I do this in photoshop on a JPG that's 600*800 or so.  I make my menu and my title and everything I need.

Then I hit the button that switches over to Image ready (wich is included in CS).  Image ready is pretty cool.  It takes the image that I made in PS and slices it up and creates the HTML code.  I can also animate the buttons and do basically what ever I want to the overall layout.

From there I save the project and open it up in front page.  Now Image ready likes to waste alot of space and bandwidth, you may be able to turn this off but I'm not sure.  In front page I delete the middle slices created in IR and use FP to change the table color.  That way I can actually type text and what not.

There I tweak the code in FP creating all the links and what not and save this as a template.  After that I create all my later pages.

Maybe this helps maybe it doesnt but that's the way i've done my last couple of sites.  I've been using photoshop for about 5 years now and have never taken a class on it but there's alot I still have yet to learn.  That being said this is the first time I've used it to make a web page.

There is no "integration" per se. (All you need to do is to cut your media, and export it ... PS will do the basic html layout for you if I remember well). IIRC, DW has a feature to "import" cut PSD files... never used it myself though.

Check out http://www.cbtcafe.com for easy tutorials... other than that, there's about a million tutorial websites out there. please do not mention "Frontpage" in my presence again, I gain a wrinkle everytime I hear/read that...

I use Photoshop and Corel paint for images and Dreamweaver for web pages

it sounds like you have a huge 8x6 image map for a web page. how well does that load up on anything but a hispeed connection?
