Title: New name suggestions
Post by: Pyro on January 12, 2006, 03:37:03 PM: We want to rename Combat Theater to avoid confusion with Combat Tour. My suggestion is Theater of Operations. Any other suggestions?

This would be a title anyone would instantly recognize... especially if the advent of CT(Combat Tour) draws in more new players to AH. A very classic name.

You left out my suggestion ("Main Arena").

We understand that this decision is supposed to be made THIS WEEK, folks, which doesn't leave much time (like, one day).

My vote at this stage is "Historic Arena," or "Axis v. Allied," with a mild preference for the former.

Yes, I am... :D Actually, I'd like to see some more participants in this discussion, since there are a lot of folks who occasionally fly in the CT. (And yes, I know you meant Kong. :p)

These three seem to be the most popular so far (each with about 1 vote):

Axis v. Allied
Historic Arena
Theater of Operations

I'm having a hard time deciding whether Axis v. Allied "AA" ( :confused: ) or Theater of Operations "ToO" would be better... Somehow the "Historic Arena" sounds too dusty (to me) although I like my WWII history books.

How exactly would any of your proposals benefit the CT? They aren't funny or creative, wouldn't attract anyone to the arena, and they are "an inside joke", which an occasional visitor wouldn't get (if Storch wasn't online, which he can't be for 24hrs). Myself, Slash and Kweassa for the "Axis vs. Allied" - 3. With Fork's vote it'll be 4...

Theatre of Operations - 5 votes (Pyro, my 2nd option, Grits, BlkKnit and Macchi)

those three seem to be the competitors.
