I’ve been shopping online for a camera and found a store that had by far the best prices out there. A little bit of research led to http://www.resellerratings.com where customer reviews are so frigging bad that they are almost funny. I’m amazed that a place can rip off so many ways for so long and stay in business.
Anyway, read a few customer reviews of royalcamera.com here: http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1895.html

Hilarious. Some people would go to such lengths to steal from someone else...

Well, someone's gone and taken photographs (http://donwiss.com/pictures/BrooklynStores/) of the brooklyn storefronts of many of these.
PCWorld detailed (http://www.pcworld.com/howto/article/0,aid,107855,00.asp) some of the more popular scam tactics.
Brooklyn camera shops are notorious. Don't ever do business with them. You can't get the camera that cheap, period.

According to the rating site, their Six-Month Rating is 1.25. I've been looking up online camera stores on their site and have found others with ratings as low as 0.11, all in Brooklyn.
I think that cameras are one of the riskiest things to buy because there are "Imported" or “grey market” models that were typically destine for Asia and come without warranties and sometimes the manuals are photocopies stapled together. Other stores like this one pull all of the standard accessories that come with the camera and charge extra for them.
The bottom line is Beware of Brooklyn!
I’m still trying to decide if “refurbished” cameras are worth the risk and about 2/3 the best new prices.
Another concern is Ebay. How can you tell for sure who you are dealing with on Ebay and what the history of the camera is?
