What are the wing bulges on late 109s?  Do they contain somethin?

They cover the gear (wheel). Look at the G-6, see those half moon looking bulges? Later war 109 wings had the larger fairing, which in fact was more aerodynamical then the bulge.

The gear on the G-6 and up was larger then the early models (see the G-2) and as such to store then internally a bulge was created in the wing.

Before someone asks what he means by larger, the tires were fatter and on wider wheels, and I think the struts were thickened too.

Just figured I'd answer before it was asked. :)
