Then explain why it has the following high tech features:
Notice the:
Composite materials
Low IR signature
Unducted fan engine
Wing warp controls
High G Cockpit
Real Time Computing
Canard Configuration
Fly-By-Wire
STOL capability
Wide field of view
Heads Up Display:aok

But would it last a second in a dogfight?
-
It had no rivals during its reign. Not one was lost due to enemy action so I'd say its record is pretty damn good.
-
It was about as stable as the modern stealth fighter too....
-
Very good points there:aok

Also low fuel consumption, multirole aircraft (air to air, air to ground, and recon) ;)

dont forget: it can't be seen on radar, and if it is, people will mistake it for a couple birds. (my dad and his friends developed a joke plan to attack D.C. with WWI bombers. actually a very feasable idea.)

The original flyer held all the duration, speed, maximum altitude, and time to climb records for heavier than air aviation.
Seems pretty high tech to me.
