Title: Squad nose-art transparency colour

Hi, im not sure where this post belongs, but ill put it here for now. Below is a qoute from the HTC help pages about the transparency colour to use for your squads nose-art:

The Upload Noseart button can be used by the squad CO to upload a 64x64 noseart graphic.  Graphics are not displayed in the game nor on the web page until they have been reviewed by the HTC staff.  The transparency color to use in order to make your noseart blend into the plane is {127, 127, 127}.

However, my sqauds nose-art uses this colour for transparency and it doesnt appear to work. I can see the mid-grey that is 127,127,127 that is supposed to be transparent.

Has anyone else found this, am i mad (or madder than usual), or has the transparency colour changed and the HTC help files not been updated.

Anyone?

I use the basic white in ms paint, and it is transparent. Not sure what the colour # is though.  Look for my squad nose art in your squads folder. Its listed as rtr. You should be eble to reverse engineer it.

Yer, after trying a few different peoples temporarily as my own (dont worry i didnt upload them...) and checking in the game, i found out it is indeed a white - i didnt actually check the RGB values, i just copied a section of it and pasted it onto my one and used the eye-dropper to select it and went about painting :)

I dont have a copy of it here at work, but i can post it for laughs later :)

The basic white in MS Paint is #255,255,255

The transparent background (in the nose art i made for the squad I am in) is: 176 176 176. And it is transparent in the game. I did the 127 127 127 1st and as with yours, it did not work. Amazed they haven't updated that info in the help file to show the correct numbers.

Have you double checked recently that yours is still transparent? I think i tried those numbers too, and it wasnt transparent last night. I could have used different numbers tho - not sure.

Spatula,

I remade mine tonight to verify.  176,176,176 is transparent.  Went into the game and checked it on an A20, worked perfect.  I did not however check out 127,127,127.

Just left the game. nose art still ok.
