Fw 190D-12


The Fw 190D-12 was a fighter-bomber variant, which differed from the D-9 by having a three-stage supercharged Jumo 213F-1 engine rated at 2,060 hp (1537 kW) for takeoff mounted in a new, more extensively armored cowling. Armanent was one engine-mounted 30 mm MK 108 cannon and two 20 mm MG 151/20s in the wing roots. Although primarily a ground-attack plane, the D-12 also made an effective fighter and could attain 453 mph at 37,000 feet when MW-50 boost was used. Production began in March 1945 at the Arado and Fieseler plants, but only a few were delivered.

I won't get it but it would be nice to have that 30mm in Dora.

Yeah, sweet ride... But with only 3 months in the war I'm sure it wasn't a serious factor and thus has about zero chance of a run in AH.

3 months?  hmmm more of those than 3-canon LA7s then LOL

They have one of these for you to see at the museum of flight in Seattle at Boeing Field...or maybe its a D-13, I forget...

So what would be the difference (game terms) between this and the TA-152?  Sounds quite similar to me (amament anyway).

The engine. D12 was a scarry animal at all altitudes, not only where nobody else is flying.:D

If Dieter Hermann's book on the 190D9 is to be believed, there is no evidence D-12s ever made it to a combat unit, with evidence of only 2 D-13s being delivered.  Production delays kept them from ever getting into the war.

But I tell ya what.  If you can convince  Hitech and company to give us the Spit 21, or even the Spit XII, both of which did see combat, you can have the D-12 :)

The surviving bird mentioned is one of those 2 D-13s
